Now that the version is out, I was wondering if CCP will look into it for implementing it. All I know its incompatible with 2.6. That much I know.
p.s: I hope I'm in the right section

They need it stackless and the stackless version of Python 3.0 is not yet available as you can see at http://zope.stackless.com/download/.

Can't see any news about it either on the webpage. Anyone knows about any updated version of stackless version of Python 3.0 or something newer than 2.6 ?

From what little I've read about it, Python 3 might be a bad idea for the short and medium term as:
1) There isn't a Stackless version yet 2) It doesn't perform as well as 2.6 currently 3) CCP would have a lot of code to rewrite simply to stay still, and I think they'd prefer to concentrate on new features and performance enhancements at least for the time being.

We're using Python 2.5 at the moment. 2.6's main purpose is to be a stepping stone to 3.0 to provide a smoother transition into backwards-incompatibility land.
We're not really seeing a reason to adopt 3.0 any time soon.

Your wrong. I want to see you run a Counterstrike server with 40,000 people fighting the entire time. then put in mathematical calculation every time someone fires their gun or goes through a doorway.
Eve is amazing considering the fact that its all single sharded.

There are no doorways in space. Python is still pretty weird choice for game design. ;)

I hate Python 2.6 and 3.0. I really really hate it.
Python 2.5, I will forever be loyal to you.

ccp have worked very closley with the guys behind python and the creator is also linked and a lot of changes in python have been inspired by ccp needs. So i think maybe its a good thing anyway that they stick with it
