I'm leaving the game. As far as the reasons go: I've been close to quitting a few times before, but I've always slept on it and every time before now I've decided against it. this morning I woke up and still wanted to leave the game. I'm tired of CCP's way of doing things. They are unilateral and offer very little justification for many of their decisions. They also strike me as almost comically bad at fixing things that are broken in Eve, every time they fix something, something else gets broken more severely. I'm tired of having to play this game like it's a career to get anything accomplished, if i were to do anything for eight hours at a time besides sleeping I'd like to get paid for it instead of paying someone else so I can do it. My RL situation is pretty hectic, and I'd rather attend to things that happen in RL than screw around with internet spaceships. In closing: Before you ask, no you can't have my stuff because it's already been given to my corpmates. -----

Unfortunately thats EVE in a nutshell.
I've thought about quitting but sometimes I just like to blast a few rocks. I'm skint at the moment, and I probably forever will be. But hey, As long as I can afford skillbooks.
Since I'm skint, please wire the contents of your wallet to me. Where I will, depending on how much is there, buy an Abaddon and give it a rainbow fit.

CCP actually engage with players in regards to changes. The speed nerf has been in the making for over a year and it was done this way after extensive consulation and that's just one thing that was implemented in the last patch.
No other MMO company consults the players like CCP do. People have been begging Sony to fix the problems with SWG and look what's happened. Blizzard are refusing to balance WoW because they're lazy and don't care. Do I need to mention the many other kiddy or failed MMO's and their useless companies?
All you needed to say was that you don't have time but don't accuse CCP of being something they are definitely not.

I know it's trendy for EVE players to hate WoW; which most likely stems from jealousy over WoW's popularity. Suffice it to say, Blizzard actually do listen to their community and make frequent efforts to straighten out imbalances within their game. Also, Blizzard don't come out with these stupid scandals every 6-9 months that CCP seem to have a propensity for.

I urge you to reconsider. I think this game is marvellous and marvellously eccentric. I love the way that it's so not mainstream Disney garbage gaming. It's truly eccentric - you can work round the nerfs and bad patches surely?
Anyway, I hope you don't leave.
You'll be back anyway.

This, seconded. I've seen so many changes happen to this game as a result of my bitching, that I know the devs are listening.

Could it be that this is because there really isn't any ways to players to make real decisions and mold the world of the game in WoW like we can in EVE? There is nothing to get scandals of in WoW. No big alliances constantly strugling for power, no massive markets of all game items, no controllable areas, no free PVP, no real communication between players other than the usual "n00b, LoL =D". Come on. I love the current scandal also. Makes EVE feel like a living economy with real people. Don't you just love it?

I'm sure it was the players decision to ban over 70 accounts and **** up the T2 market as well.
Talk about heavy handed. Why not subtley adjust the game mechanics for a 4 year old error rather than burn in, ban ****ing everyone, destroy everything and hope that you don't look like a bunch of over-posessive *******s at the end of it.
You can't do that in an MMO, People pay to play the damned game, if they discover an exploit in the system then you FIX the damned problem but you DONT ban your paying members of the game just because they were turning a quick VIRTUAL buck on it.
Anyone would have done the same thing considering grinding money in EVE is all EVE is actually about at the end of the day.

Wow, you fail at reading comprehension. also, you seem to have a bit of trouble with reality as well, considering your corp lost an orca to MXD and then your corp hired mercs to fight MXD. Sniper, I've dealt with people far more obnoxious than yourself in EVE and they didn't compel me to leave. you're not even a blip on the radar as far as my reasons for leaving are concerned by the way, a good many others seem to fail at reading comprehension as well. my stuff is in the hands of my corpmates.
and to clarify my statements at the beginning of the thread, I may be coming back to eve eventually. Upon discussion with my corpmates I've decided that just leaving outright may not be best. at the very least I'm taking a long break. -----

Speak for yourself. Read the thread in the information portal: players are howling for blood tbh.
Oh and by the way not "everyone" would cheat if they could. That's the same, tired feeble self-justification used by criminals - and cheaters - since time began.
Everyone without an ounce of self-respect or integrity, perhaps. That's you by the way. You have no integrity or self-respect, because you'd cheat at a god damb video game if only you could.

1) I thought you quit eve, or was that just emo-drama? 2) The orca pilot makes losing orcas a practice, he was one of the fist people to lose an orca, hence why hes not in APOCS anymore 3) We didnt hire mercs, your ceo was an ass and got wardecced by l8l8l8, who HE hired mercs to kill and i pointed out your corp to a few friends of mine, who just so happen to run a merc corp
I hope this cleared things up for you and seriously! Thanks for just reading my sig! |

So, given that Sniper Wolf18 likes to lie, I feel obliged to set things straight, even though it isn't really the subject of the thread. That said, Sniper Wolf18 diverted it first, so let's get things straight. I intend to be frankly honest about a few screw-ups MXD made in the war, because, unlike Sniper Wolf18, I am both honest and capable of admitting error.
So, we're hired to kill Apocalypse Ponies by a client who shall remain unnamed. During the course of this event, Apocalypse Ponies kill a Rifter and my Maelstrom - and I admit, I lost the Maelstrom mostly because of my own stupidity (drones on "aggressive" = fail) - and then smack in local like they're the best PvPers in EVE. They then lose an Orca, ragekick the guy who was flying it at the time, say it doesn't matter but mysteriously start staying silent in local. During the course of these events, members of L8L8L8 attempt to canbait members of Mixed Metaphor - MXD don't take the bait. L8L8L8 directors then threaten to wardec us unless we flip their cans. We laugh between ourselves. They then flip the Maelstrom wreck, and lose a Thorax - apparently not finding it all that funny when it's their ships that they lose. They declare war on us.
Our allies, Duty., came into the war for the lulz. We don't control Duty. but we are thankful for their help, of course. We didn't "hire" them.
Sniper Wolf18 then decides that even with the help of L8L8L8 and his own elite fighting force of mining battleships we aren't dying fast enough, and then either hires or begs his friends in Sardaukar Merc Guild to fight us - he conveniently ignores the irony or the hypocricy that he's doing exactly what he criticised us for doing (bringing allies into the war). Half of Sardaukar's active membership raids MXD's public channel, smacks and gets kicked. MXD's client decides that the Orca kill was lulsome enough, considers our contractural obligations fulfilled, we drop the war with Apocalypse Ponies because, yes, we do have a lot of wartargets already. That said, L8L8L8 have not yet managed to land even a single kill on us, while Sardaukar are, at least, giving a better account of themselves than either of the other two corps did - currently we're at low efficiency in the war with them, but I'm hoping that will change. We're certainly not keeling over and dying, which I have a sneaking suspicion is what Sniper Wolf18 expected us to do.
Basically, yeah, this contract really didn't go exactly how we'd have liked, but the fact that Sniper Wolf18 actively feels the need to assure everyone he's winning it (even though he's no longer actually involved in it) in a completely unrelated thread says more about him than it does about us, I believe. -----

If your going to leave then be nice about it imo, pointless trying to bad mouth CCP on your way out of the door, this was your last chance to say bye to the people you know and like on the EVE forums and you have blown it by sounding like a whinepot.
Most of what you have criticised I disagree with anyway, the game just got balanced in the best way since I started back in 2003.
With all that said I wish you good luck and I will see you back here in a few months once you realise you made a big mistake.
