I'm curious about the different methods of making ISK, and what it breaks down to per hour.
For example, my miner in 0.0 can make ~$40M/hr mining. My ratter in 0.0 can make ~$25M/hr, etc. When I was doing L4 missions I THINK I could do ~$30M/hr depending on the missions (of course averaging it out, taking into account the points, bonus, rewards, etc).
I know this is a complex question (and with ratting, you can get hauler spawns, faction drops, etc.) but I'd like to work out a basic overview of ISK/hr for those who focus on one area and try to maximize it. What about doing Plexes?

My experience is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to tell anything even remotely accurate. Too many variables in this game. What ship, what weapons, what skills, what action? Those are just a few of them and depending on who you ask, the answer will be somewhere between 100.000 and 100.000.000 ISK per hour...

That might not have been such a good trade... GM says 70 accounts have been banned... 5 trillion divided by 4 years to 70 accounts give 2m isk per hour.... Ok granted... every hour!

This is pretty easy folks. It's not difficult to say "yah I made $20m last night doing L3 missions for 2 hours, so $10M/hr doing that" or "I mine in highsec and pull ~$4.5M/hr" etc.
I'm just looking for people's experiences in different areas; believe me, with enough feedback, averages will start to surface. This isn't PvP fittings; this is doing missions, ratting, mining, plexing, trading, etc.
For example, somebody with a jump freighter, playing the market, etc. how much do they average an hour? One player may say $100M another may say $200M, etc. but it gives us all a ballpark at what "playing at that level" can do, especially to new players who are on L2 missions (for example). --- CuddleMonkey! |

Okay. I am doing 117 million ISK (and NOT $) per hour. This is due to me using ships that are very cost-effective and me picking the right missions only.

There are some things that are difficult to factor in into your average ISK/hour figure. For example: In 0.0 how long does it take you to get ready and assemble a mining op? Do you lose more ships mission running in low sec and 0.0 vs high sec? Do you need to spend time ganging up to defend territory or refuel POS so that you can do exploration in nullsec vs lowsec? Do you spend time on SiSi and on forums doing research before you set off trading? How much time do you spend hauling minerals you mined for sale?
You're not going to get true averages. Just whatever people feel like that they are earning but these figures will always be an overestimate.

People can only go by their own experience and skills.
From my own, mining would be the best income for me since most of my primary characters skills are industrial. Missioning comes second and ratting third.
This would be different for someone with more PVE related skills as missioning and ratting would be far easier and therefore the higher earners. Someone with good PVP related skills (both ingame and RL) would probably find piracy to be a good income.
Add to this the availability of the income like the size of roids for miners, good missions for PVE and lots of targets for PVP and you have a set of variables that could make a players secondary income more profitable than their primary.

~ is a tilde, it means approximately, $ is a dollar sign, it means dollars, or in the case of the op, a unit of currency

You're doing it wrong... With a properly fit marauder and properly maximizing profits, 40-50+ mil/hour should be simple enough. Of course if you fit blasters, don't fit damage mods, salvage cruiser wrecks, accept ******ed missions, use a battlecruiser, not know what you're doing, waste your LP, etc...

I've never really timed myself, and I usually rat and keep the alloys over the course of several days (15-30 min per), but I could perhaps safely say 20-40 mil an hour ratting. Depends on the spawns, and if I tried really hard, probably break 100 mil in 2.5 hours.

Pointless, for several reasons.
Wallet amount can change easily. I may claim to do 117M/hour, you may think that I do it day in and day out, so I should have billions, while the screenshot says I have 87.567 ISK. you may call me a liar, but I may have bought a lot of stuff and that's what makes me look poor.
Journal updates can change just as easily. I can be buying and selling stuff, transferring money between this account and that, making it impossible to see one hours worth of entries in one screenshot.
And finally, nobody in their right mind would ever post screenies of their wallets, just to tell the sceptics in this kind of thread what can and can not be done...

When mission running in empire, I tend to get 25-30mil an hour.
0.0 ratting is a mixed bag, if rats don't spawn well then I can earn 5mil in an hour by constantly ****ing around with cruisers spawns until the system just dies. If I get good spawns I can earn 40mil an hour by chaining, and if I am really lucky I find faction crap and boost that number considerably.

What do you mean 40-50+? Why can't you be more precise about the upper limit?
Also, a Kronos is not a battlecrusier, it is a waste of space. And I most certainly have not much clue about running missions, in much the same way as you don't have much clue about spotting trolls.

Even if 40-50+ is an oxymoron in itself, I think he meant for it to be read like "usually between 40 and 50 millions, but it happens that it's more, if I get a good drop" ?

I appreciate my average income to be around 50 mil/h, while doing level 4's in highsec. Per ship. Now mind you it's very rare that I achieve these figures since most of the time I'm doing other things, such as posting in your threads here, meaning I won't be doing missions meanwhile, meaning...
And on top of that, I intentionally far from maximize my isk/hour, simply because it's to dull to do it. I know what missions that nets me the best isk per hour, I know how I could squeeze a few more isks out of it.
As for the wallet journal, while I don't mind in the slightest to post such logs, they would prove nothing. Direct income from the mission itself is very slight compared to loot, salvage, loyalty points and other indirect incomes it will net you.
Oh... and mind you this is with ships and modules that are FAR from as effective as they could be.

Try playing with two accounts - one miner and one ratter. Mine with the miner in 0.0. Let the ratter rat while the miner mines. When your miner in hulk gets into trouble, go help him out with your ratter. When there are enough cans, use your miner to haul some ore at some point and then continue ratting and mining.
