You wish!
We can travel throught the stars but our computers can't handle the conversion between km and AUs... seriously?
CCP can we add this to your "little things" bag. Pretty please?
SSP Punkturis, anything you can do about this as part of your UI improvements? |

How do you use this thing anyways? Are there any guides out there? https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1109909#post1109909

As long as we can still use KMs too I'm fine with it. AUs would be better at long ranges, but short range scanning requires the use of KMs. |

I'm in the same boat as you brother. Give me probes and I'll find you in seconds but I just do not see how somebody can zero in on D-scan. |

It would be nice to see it change from km's to AU automatically, however till then
1 AU = 149,597,870.691 kilometers which is all nice to know BUT.
For D-scan just round it up
1 AU = 150 Mill km 4 AU = 600 Mill km 8 AU = 1,200 Mill KM 14 AU = 2222222222222 and hit the scan button
D-scan angle works based on the angle YOU are looking it has nothing to do with the ship orientation. quick scan is 180 for direction and drop to 30 to narrow down a specific target. it takes a few seconds at most just one method |

you don't need kilometers for dscan. It is called directional scan for a reason. This is a useful tool that helps you scan without putting probes out (which can be seen by other probes).
dscan is used to passively scan in the direction that your view (not your ship) is pointing. want to look for some one in an asteroid field but dont want to scare them off first? point your view at the asteroid field. an set angle to say 10. get ships on scan? you may have targets in that direction you were pointing. |

Actually having kilometers on Dscan is absolutely essential for quickly locating which moon a POS is at without announcing your presence by deploying probes, Wormhole dwellers use this every day.
Having AU on Dscan, yes please, but give us a toggle between KM and AU.

SSP Punkturis, anything you can do about this as part of your UI improvements? How do you use this thing anyways? Are there any guides out there? There's a lengthy d-scan section in one of the rifter pvp guides that are out there.
Edit: Here you go. This one has a 3 page d-scan section. http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/TheOrangeGuy/Beginners_Guide_to_Piracy_2.1.pdf |

I, for one, would prefer that the scanner remain at its current default settings: 1,000km, 180 degree field, and really wide columns that conceal a bunch of data. After all, EVE is supposed to be hard.
I would, however, support different ship classes possessing different scan strengths. It seems logical that a large battleship would possess more inherent signal strength than a T1 frigate. And when I think about it in reverse, it seems silly that they don't. |

I want a slider next to the km input box... above or below it... that changes the numbers in the box.... the slider should be in AU, and the box should stay the same... |

Sorry, what? Rifter PVP guide? I'm so there.
D-scan is easy. KMs are commonly known, AU are hard to quantify in real terms. |

As someone else already stated. Just keep in mind 150 million km is 1 AU and you are fine. Not like it's hard math to calculate on the fly. |

What if they made a shortcut to input a distance to a currently selected celestial on the d-scan? I would find that useful |

You think thats strange?
Our beloved ships autopilot is so bad it drops you 15 km from gate and slowboats you in. Yet we can swing it manually and make perfet landing on 0 every time... Really would like to find designer of that autopilot software ingame and blow him up [Insert something funny or smart here] |

Agreed. I would much rather choose from a drop down menu that goes from 14 to 1 AU. |
