Is there a list with missions that have roids in them and that shows if it's worth mining or not? Thanks

you can not mine asteroids in mining missions.....
no seriously you can't, well except for the mission asteroids there is nothing and you have to give all those in to your agent at the end.

The person above is not talking of only "mining" missions.
Last i checked for combat missions like Enemies Abound 1 and Gone Berserk and such the asteroids listed there are available for up to 5 days, depending upon your agent.
The missions only lose the bonus after an hour, but will remain open for DAYS, giving you plenty of time to get those supposedly inattainable asteroids. =----------=

Edited by: Dracthera on 20/12/2008 15:46:31 Enemies Abound 1 has kernite and omber, and Enemies Abound 2 and 3 have omber. Many missions have veldspar you could mine. There's a L3 mission that has a little bit of morphite I think (about 2 mil worth). I haven't seen a list that just focuses on mission mining.
It's worth noting that you can make more money by running missions and purchasing the ore you need as opposed to mining the roids in mission space, but there may be reasons you want to mine instead of mission. If you want to farm the mining missions, make sure you pay attention to the mission completion triggers and don't trip them so you can come back and start over after DT. Also remember that running EA will cause you to lose Gallente standing.

thanks guys, i was looking for a mission (fighty) that has some decent roids to mine. These days it's hard to find belts you can mine for hours ... unless the roids are 5km away from each other :))

I found a lvl 1 mission a while back with 2mil veld in it. Probably should start keeping track of which one's have ore and how much.

Downing the Slavers (L4), second part of a two parter has some big Omber/Veld/Scordite roids.

Break Their Will, both L1 and L3, has 21 scordite and 40 Veldspar. The roids are a bit scattered, so its better as a corp op than solo mining. It is also an encouter type mission, not deadspace, so your hauler can warp right to you.

Recon 1 of 3 the 2nd room is full of veldspar.
So far I've mined 3 millon m of veld out of there with out moving from the warp in point. And there still a lot more there.

The Blockade lvl 1 has some 3-4 mil Veldspar in it. The higher levels of this mission have a scripted booby trap on the roids that damage the miner every yield.
Unauthorized Military Presence has usually some asteroids in it, though they tend to be rather far off from the warp-in point. Those could actually be harvested with a Orca tractoring the cans in from the miners and the hauler(s) taking from the Orca at warp-in.
The Score lvl 4 against Sansha and Serpentis have a good amount of Pyroxeres in the first room, though a Orca would probably be needed for better accessibility.
Easiest way to get Veldspar would be to rush through lvl 1 missions until you get one with enough rocks at a convenient location in the system of your choice. There cannot be a Veldspar shortage ever with missions having rocks available. It seems like a kind of a failsafe should all belts deplete.

Missions are a good source of "non native" asteroids. I used to mine omber from combat missions so it would be available for storyline (Materials for War Preparation) missions. Not every region has the necessary asteroid type in the belts.

I was thinking about doing this for a bit, but then realized if I leave the ore alone and do more missioning instead, that I can just buy the minerals I would have mined and still have money left over.
Unless you're AFK mining so you can work on something else, missions pay more than mining in high-sec. Hopefully someday that will, change, because I'd love to have something else to do besides missioning right now, but that's the way it is. --------------------

Mining in missions is nice if your corp is wardecced and you want a relatively safe place to mine.

Love that mission arc, so much drone material loot, as well as morphite from the BS spawn.

If any one is interested in mining asteroids in the missions I run I'd love to work something out.
I operate out of Frarn running lvl 4s. I'm usually on around 01:00-03:00 on most weekdays (enough time for a mission or two).
Message me in game and maybe we could set up a channel to work out logistics.
Also anyone interested in buying salvage/loot rights for the missions should feel free to send me a message.

This is my favorite mission to mine. The 'roids are right at the entrance and the rats are easily dispatched. _______________________________________ Pull a lever, push a button, have a banana, die.

That's usually true, but there are important exceptions. For example, if you have a Hulk w/ T2 strips lying around from your early Mining Days, you can make 3m per hour on missions like New Frontiers. That is a lot more than you can net per hour running L2 and L3 hisec missions for NPC standings when you are bored stiff with courier missions.
