Edited by: Sojet on 21/12/2008 17:33:03 Ello,
I'd love to own a Carrier somewhere down the line, but since I have no experience flying one I figured I'd ask the experts. I won't have one anytime soon, probably not for at least 6 months to a year, but I want to get a start on the training ASAP.
I get the impression that the Niddy is generally unpopular for a Carrier, due to a weaker tank and instant primaries. However, it looks like spaceawesome and I can see it having a massive impact if used as a big Logistics toy.
Here's what I have so far, but I still have some highs to fill. Bear in mind it will be used as Fleet Support, rather than a hotdropper or gankwagon.
Highs: Triage, Remote Shields, Remote Armour, 2x ??????? Meds: Capital Shield Booster, 2x Caldari Navy Invuls, Caldari Navy Boost Amp, ECCM II Lows: Damage Control II, 5x Cap Power Relay II Rigs: 2x CCC II, CCC I
Damage really is a non-issue with this setup, since I don't plan on taking it out without at least a friendly gang. The Triage and ECCM are to really maximise my gangs and my own defenses, and to help defend me against Falcons. Despite missing a Mid, I can still get over 10.6k dps tanked (Yes yes, EFT Warrior).
I was considering a Cloak and a Gang Assist Mod, but the cloak might cause problems with a lower scan res meaning my friends get shot up that little bit longer. Of course, if I'm primary then that won't really matter...
Any help is appreciated. _________________________________________ Animals have the right to be tasty.

Triage has no place tbh, you sign your waiver the second you turn it on. You're stuck in place for 10 minutes with a meager 51km sphere of RR around you. If triage gave a 250% boost to rr range, then it would've been worth it.
The T2 rigs increase the price of the entire fit by 50% while making it only marginally more effective so I would stick to T1. Something along the lines of..
[Nidhoggur, dual] True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay Damage Control II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Capital Armor Repairer I
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Conjunctive Ladar ECCM Scanning Array I
Large EMP Smartbomb II Capital Remote Armor Repair System I Capital Remote Armor Repair System I Capital Shield Transporter I Capital Shield Transporter I
Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I
Always carry a cloak with you for emergencies.

Some key points:
1) Armor tank + Remote Armor Reps 2) Pick ECCM or Triage. Triage makes you immune to ECM, if you don't plan on using triage then don't even bring as it takes up a valuable slot. 3) Smartbombs. -=^=- "Someday the world will recognize the genius in my insanity." |

Downloading..although I'm expecting one of those very rare situations in which triage can be awesome :P

Might as well put 2xAmarr navy eanms besides those, 20mil a pop is pretty cheap. Also, I don't think I'd undock without a sensorbooster in any scenario. Boink! |

obviously ;) the faction eanms are an easy fix
And the nid doesn't need the sensor booster as much as the other carriers because it has a very decent scan res of it's own, but it's an option.

Im a fan of neuts on carriers myself, acting as halfassed webs sortof. One smartbomb isnt doing much and in fleets i so rarely got to use em as it wouldve put freindly ships or drons in danger, also with the capital missiles now not gettin smarted anymore, i dont fit em on carriers anymore. -

I used to fit two smartbombs but have gone down to one now after the changes. A group of carriers with one eahc can still take out capital missiles and its simply invaluable as a point defense versus ceptors and drones.
