If we're doing larger stations can we look at POS ship maintenance arrays? I still get confused how an Orca (among all the other ships!) are supposed to fit in there. I'd be happy to accept the tardis theory, only the Orca wouldn't even get in there in the first place. And how can I even get a Raven to fit in my Chimera!? Why does nothing make sense in this make believe sci-fi computer game!!!???

Stay calm! Everything will be okay, we'll just jump through this stargate here and travel several thousand times the speed of light.

I have a theory. If this earth and the universe it's in is real then we're currently living in space where the laws of physics and reality are twisted like it is even more so in wormhole space. Then again,it's just a theory. *looks out a view port in search for a black CONCORD ship* |

A giant secure container is 3000 m3 large, but holds 3900 m3. You can't explain that. Makes perfect sense. Is easier to stack stuff in a box than it is just sitting on the ground. I'd just like to point out that volume is not dependant on how easy something can be stacked. Volume is volume. It's fairly absolute. |

OP: with as massive as stations in EVE are, they could not be as close as your pic, without either being pulled in (might have tech to avoid that) or causing planetary issues.
As for size, some are fine. Caldari stations are one of the better ones. Some Amarr stations shouldn't even be able to allow Freighters to leave or enter. |

900 m3 of it actually hangs out in space.

International space station is little further further away and picture taken from it are almost the same. So our stations would be few more km away... and not thousands of km like its in the game. And this is if you look at linear increase of distance with a mass. But the mass is not only factor. Speed of rotation around the planet is the main factor because centrifugal force is that which keep station on the same altitude.
And sorry but i dont see how that many that big ships can fit in any station in EVE. And still you must add number of non capsuleer ships and personal and living quarters... (even if in EVE everything looks empty and like nobody else lives there but thats the problem that CCP wont make space look more live) truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. |

What are you all smoking?
Even small stations are over 40km long. That's thousands of times the volume of the biggest ships that can actually dock.
If you think they look small, try bumping up against a station and zooming out. Anything but a Titan will look tiny compared to a station. |

While you're increasing the size of these stations, and their proximities to planets, could you come by the house and do my dishes? I'm getting VERY tired of these mundane chores. There's a prince. Thanks!

Good thing no-one in this thread has forgotten that the stations are not next to planets ... they are moons...

The ISS is 72 m long and 108 m wide. That is smaller than some frigates (the Hound is 111 m long). It really can't be used as an example. As i know that's a habitat without solar panels and non-human and russian human add-ons that have been added over the years.
And i did not talk about its size and EVE station sizes, i talked about relation of sizes of satellite and international space station and differences in altitudes between them. truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. |

Can't remember how but there is a way to remove perspective effects (ctrl drag or something).
Next to a BS using however you do the above, most stations and undocks are enormous (aside from the rather feminine undock of the common Amarr station). |
