Edited by: Aegis Osiris on 28/12/2008 19:22:38 The one thing that would make the Nag about a million times better would be to take the 2-2 setup and make it a 3-3 (ie 3 guns, 1 launcher or 3 launchers 1 gun). That should allow it to outdamage other dreads, but balanced with a still weaker tank (though you could use one dmg mod only at that point, counting on the 4th gun to make up some of the slack...).
Oh, and my understanding was the Phoenix has an excellent tank, for as much as that matters in larger cap engagements (ie. very f'in little). I like violet more then pink. |

Or just make it 4 high slots, 3 turret hardpoints, no launcher hardpoints.

Keeping the 3-3 lets it do both, if it chooses too. Might as well keep the ability. This change is the simplest one, really. Anything else makes a large change to the ship (ie. swaping slots) or a bit impact on peole that trained for it (training capital torps then haveing them taken away; you gots cost of skills, launchers, ammo, time...).
This is a KISS type of change, that could and should be implemented with little or no major issues that would make useful a ship that is currently wanting. Why not just do it the easy way? I like violet more then pink. |

because I don't want to have to deal with the BS that is citadel torp travel time.

This will increase the damage making it even more of a primary. The most dmg and worst tank, do you really want that? Ships tends to either have speed or tank to survive and (due to the nature of dreads) speed does not help dreads. What the ship needs is a tank equal to the other dreads. And I like the idea of getting rid of torps all together and making it a single weapon system. The dual weapon is crap.

Guess MIN dread will have to worry about the particulers of a situation and see where it can be most effective. And like someone said a dread is better then no dread.

Ah well, in all fairness it depends where you want to use your dread.
- If it's big cap blobs, in the end it won't make a huge difference, because the tank becomes irrelevant.
- If it's one your main, you might not fly it that often in the end, so it's really worth it to ask yourself if you wanna train for another race just for a ship that you won't use that much
- If your alliance does not use dreads on a regular basis, see above.

Train for the Moros and T2 sentries. . .and stop trying to make the Nag work. Its a terrible dread because its designed forr versitility when what a dread needs is a big tank and big guns - not to go fast and look cool. . .

Changing the number of turrets would need a change in the model. Not gonna happen.
Best option. Give an extra slot (low or mid, if mid with about 50 more CPU)). Naglfar has less non high slots because one slot extra is move to high slot. But this is useless because even with 4 gun it has low damage.
My own preferencewould be for a 4-6-6 slot layout with extra CPU. So it can fit a shield tank and load like 3-4 damage mods.
Other option... make bonuses 7.5% projectile rof and 7.5% citatel torp ROF. Would help a bit.
