That said, I don't really know why you'd want to use it for EVE. What is the benefit as a player/user? You can already download the game for free from CCP and you have to manage and pay your accounts and subscriptions directly via CCP.
Is this all really just so you can have a little button in your Steam window to click to launch EVE instead of on your desktop or in a folder or a menu somewhere?
steam would be GREAT if the games didnt cost twice as much as they do in the shops and in the shops you get box manual and dont need to ravage your net bandwidth. Steam really is a pile of ****e.
they cost twice as much on steam, really? are you looking at old games, a bunch of online stores will keep the suggested retail price, where you can get it at some stores for less as they try to get rid of stock.
as for the manuals, well they are mostly crap these days. probably easier to go to the game's website and just download the pdf of the manual. or just check teh intrawebz for any info you want on the game.

Most games are cheaper on steam for me Maybe its more expensive for euros because they did a ccp-style dollars=euros so no conversion of prices and more expensive in euros.

Edited by: brinelan on 29/12/2008 15:24:03 Games come with manuals? The few I got recently in the store had a small install guide and a few pages of background info and what the ui icons mean. I guess you can call that a manual lol

They ban people for stupid things, and the bans are for every game that you have in steam. So suppose you were banned for playing CS on one account, none of your other games will work through steam.
That sounds like pure balls, I mean, if I logged in and found out that my ú500 odd of games were suddenly unavailable there would be a civiil suit before you could say WTFBBQSAUCE?!?!
Actually if you break the eula they can do that and besides its not EVERY steam game its the games that are related. Say you get caught cheating in CSS. VAC catches you and therefor youve broken EULA with by comprimising the source engine...that includes ALL source engine games... If youve broken the CSS files then you have broken the rest. Therefore...no source for you. You can continue to play other 3rd party games on steam until you play one that uses pb and get cought there and banned as well.
They can do what they want...just like ccp does what they want. You dont own anything, your just borrowing it from them. The sky was blue but there was no god. |
