more importantly, you need to fix winterblink's web link on the OOOPS, something happened page when the forums die ----------------------------------------------- Don't think of it as dying, Think of it as leaving early to avoid the rush |

Not a single problem here ollobrains, and I'm running multiple clients. Btw. memory leaks & ctd never are 'server end'. 8 GB, nice, 64bit windows?
Anyway I suggest you follow CCP guidelines for troubleshooting on the appropriate forum, it will help you the best. It's very very unlikely this is server related. More likely is a client or client cache issue, or something else with the PC.

Sorry bud, memory leaks are not caused by servers. Reinstall your client to make sure you dont have a corrupt file in there somewhere... also check your ram using memtest (google it for the download) to make sure your ram is not bad.
And ya there were a few memory leaks recently, eve-search.com to find them.
Basically, yes it can be your system, just because you paid all that money for a new rig dosen't mean it is perfect.

Originally by: CCP Prism X However, it's an unacceptable risk. 135 minutes of extra downtime that could have been avoided is really not acceptable to anyone here in CCP. Sure we are now all aware of this possibility and know how to detect it but it's still (See Atlas! SEE!) an utterly unnecessary risk of increased downtime, even if it saves us some minutes of the daily downtime. So this will most likely change in the near future.
Lesson learned: Automatically dropping indexes ftl.
Thanks for the detailed response. I'm amazed at the time you all take to respond to the community. In my experience, no other mmo offers that level of interaction. It is quite appreciated!
This is what I was thinking. I've been GM (not a dev, just community contact dude) in another game and we had strict regulations for spreading any kind of information. I was critical to that approach and CCP really gets /respect for this.
Their customer relation dudes need to shape up craptons still, as do their forum mods, but some of the staff is really above top notch.
Either way, on a grand scale, CCP is totally kickass.

Indeed, we love you guys/girls, but we also keep you on your hoofs by flaming and turning into vicious biting mammals! All this for you to achieve maximum efficiency and that "KICKASS I SOLVED THE BUG!!!" feeling when you do it right. Of course when you don't solve the bug we get the greased weasels...
I think all this *****slapping also contributes to the whole experience.

I've always assumed that's what the down-time was for, but it never really made any sense to me. Sure, it's faster to re-index and run database maintenance on a non-active system, but it's nearly 2009. Why not run them hot? My postgres datbase only serves about half as many people as CCP, but it NEVER goes down except temporarily for upgrades. Everything can be run with very limited impact on performance throughout the day.
I would be interested to hear from you, how big are your DB? I know that it's not easy to manage a huge DB. Especially online. I have to manage a 4.6Tb database, and it's not easy when you need to re-index a index, which is 800mb. I think there is a big difference between your DB and the one which is managed by CCP.

I've been getting lost sockets but that's mostly my unstable line, now I've got a good connection I'm keeping power to my modem & network card. Not CCP's fault,
