I have a question about the 10 mission storyline you start out with. I only made it through 7 and then didn't accept the 8th in time and now he won't give me any work. Am I SOL, or can I get back in good standing with him and finish them out? I heard you get another ship and an implant and am afraid I've missed out.
Thanks,

I'm not entirely sure - it's been some time and several updates to EVE since I ran those missions - but if you raise your standing with the empire/corperation that this agent works for, it will eventually filter down to the agent's standing and you'll be able to continue the mission chain. ----------------------------------------------
Say "Amarr ships suk, lol." I dare you.

Storyline agents only give out jobs by mail. So just keep doing missions for other agents in that faction and you should receive storyline missions in your mail every ~7 missions.

The OP isn't talking about storyline missions, he's talking about the 10-part tutorial mission - perhaps "Cash flow for capsuleers".
What I do know is that you can start any of the three tutorial chains at any time. As such, I'd expect that you could go back to that agent at some point in time. Check the in-game bio for a character named "unrefined" - last time I checked he had a list of the three tutorial agents (business, combat, industry) in each Empire.
I'd recommend doing all three tutorial mission sequences, they'll help you learn the basic game mechanics.
And remember to look up the bio for the character "Villard Wheels" if you get stuck in the industry mission sequence ;) Just had to mention that since I haven't seen it mentioned for a long time.

It's the Balancing the Books mission storyline.
