We have recently created a new in-game chat channel (channel "Findmining") in an effort to help miners find the right corp.
If you are looking for a mining corp come on in and have a chat and check out the list of corps actively recruiting miners!
Please feel free to drop by if you are recruiting miners, recruiting mining corps for an alliance or even looking for a merger with other mining corps!
Channel "Findmining" in game.
Happy corp hunting!

this is a great idea. I got 4 people out of this channel the first day it was up. All miners or mining corps should use it.

On your neocom (bar to the left on your screen) locate the "Channels and Mailing Lists" button, a window will pop up with a list of chats, at the bottom of that window there is a button marked "Join" press this and type in FIND MINING and the channel will open.

Yup. Now I just need a link to your corp, so that I can find your corp ID to put on the list, that way the correct corp will pop up when you click on it.

Edited by: Killer Gandry on 09/01/2009 05:42:08 Well, tried the channel and found it wanting.
Mainly wanting in terms of someone who doesn't feel the need to discourage new CEO's of finding members.
I for one think and feel this isn't the sort of channel starting corporations want to go to. Since it's Rigel's channel and he thinks he thus creates the right to question new CEO's and thus making them feel less adequate or as he said it:
Julius Rigel > our work (read: my tireless grinding away at smaller corps) leads to a happier environment for recruiters (read: fewer recruiters, more recruits) Julius Rigel > Lunas I've already successfully made a couple of CEOs rethink starting a new corp Julius Rigel > I've had a few mails and a few links to corps that are now closed
Since this seems to be his main thrive I can hardly say this is actually a working channel but more of a "Come in here and let's see if we can screw up your Corp so big Corporations get some more members" kind of channel
Mister Rigel forgets one thing however. He himself has a 2 member Corp, why not dissolve that one since what is the point of a small Corporation as he himself states.
Ow and on a sidenote: No I am not a new CEO and our Corp is not as wanting as Mister Rigels Corporation. We don't feel the need to hack on new players who strive for something just for the sole purpose to manipulate them into a direction.
I feel kind of sorry that his socalled discussion channel didn't work out. But creating another sort of channel with the same purpose just to pull in unwilling victims doesn't really make the channel he created legit but mainly a weak substitute for a failed experiment in the passt. |

See, if you spent a fraction of the effort you spend on making angry forum posts on recruiting, you would be a fantastic recruiter.

Could you quote me on this please?
I never said small corps are pointless. My philosophy is that a small corp which aims to do exactly what another corp does needs to rethink why eve needs two identical corps. Obviously many CEOs will have justifiable reasons for starting a new corp, but the majority are just doing it "for the lulz" and are just making life miserable for everyone. Especially the confused new players who join such a corp.
Originally by: Killer Gandry Ow and on a sidenote: No I am not a new CEO and our Corp is not as wanting as Mister Rigels Corporation. We don't feel the need to hack on new players who strive for something just for the sole purpose to manipulate them into a direction.
I am not trying to manipulate anyone, I am simply trying to separate the passionate CEOs from those who will lose interest in six months and give up on their corporation. You obviously have "the drive" for success and you will make a great corp some day, as soon as you direct your passion away from flaming me and towards something that will help your corp.
Originally by: Killer Gandry I feel kind of sorry that his socalled discussion channel didn't work out. Who says it didn't work? I think the comments above are testament to the contrary. Besides, the channel has only been around for a few days, I am quite satisfied with the amount of participation in such a minuscule timeframe. |
