Hello,
As I am new to eve, I don't expect everything to be easy however I like to do things efficiently and learn from other's who have experience in this game. I am a Caldari Female that went Military >Special Forces.
My question is, What would be a good path to take to train up in First to learn military related skills in combat and ship flying. I am overwhelmed with the complexity of this game and tried looking at all aspects but would like a fresh look. I want to be able to go into any zone and handle myself accordingly, so I want to train like I said in military related skills, and ship flying first.
or if others have recommendations I am all ears

No need to be rude. It's not as if everyone begins life already knowing about EVEMon.

This statement stands out for a lot of reasons. Ambition is good but keep your expectations realistic. There are 3 year old pilots that won't venture into deep 0.0 for example. Your likely going to want to stay within Empire space while you train some core skills. For example, to *effectively* pilot a battlecruiser can take a year to gather 'decent' skills.
The best 'advice' I can give you is to a) master each ship as you build your way up. Or b) Work on a long term goal and focus on that. If you're going to be playing EVE for a long time, you may consider looking at this thread and consider spending the first three months doing your learn skills. EVE is great but it can be a year or two before it gets *really* interesting. Good luck.

thanks for the replies, I know about evemon now, but a little confusing to operate but ill keep playing with it. That is one thing I noticed is how long skills take to train. I have some friends that play or played, and they gave me some info as well saying it could take months or longer before you could really have some skills to back up your ship. I guess i'll hang back for a while before i venture into deep space :/

SP are good, but real experience and the right attitude is better. If you really know what you're doing, you can fight with a Day One character. You should take a little longer, but not a year. Get your learning skills to a moderate level (basics to level 4, advanced to level 3 will do fine), which will considerably speed up your training. Then find a PvP corp that accepts newbies, or just join Agony who exist to give new players combat training.
Get out there and fight. A 5M SP Rupture pilot who has had dozens of fights and joins up every gang is worth far more to a corp than a 25M SP Commandship pilot who stayed in hi-sec for 15 months, has never shot anything that didn't have a CONCORD bounty, and refuses to join any fight where there is a possibility his 500M ISK ship might be lost.
