If i launch my sentry drones and start shooting at stuff, they shoot at what im shooting at. But im flying a dominix with two drone links on it. I can send any drone up to 95Km (i think)
Im thinking of switching to a megathron for faster mission running since i come back in my salvage ship anyway so the domi is a bit unnecessarily slow unless im semi - afk.
Anyway, my question is without drone links, will my sentries only shoot stuff thats 45km away (my max drone range with current skills and no links) or will they still shoot at my long range targets with me?
Did i explain that alright or am i just making people thing im a little 'special'?

You can only tell them shoot stuff that's 45km or less away, yes.
But if you put them on "aggressive" rather than "passive" they'll shoot whatever they like. Wouldn't really recommend that though unless you're sure that they aren't going to aggro something you don't want them to.
However, remember that the Mega has one "spare" high slot (you can only fit 7 turrets) so you could fit one drone link anyway if you want to.

Hmhmhmmmm i knew that if they are already on a target and he flies away, they keep shooting outside control range.
But if they are on aggressive and my max control range is lets say 65km with 1 drone link. And im shooting something 80km away, i cant tell them to shoot it because its out of control range.
But will they open fire anyway, since they are assisting me?

From my experience, they *might* open fire on your target. I would estimate that, when my drones are set to aggressive, about 60% of the time they will. The rest of times they'll either attack a different target, or sometimes just sit there doing nothing.

Ah well, since its just extra DPS its ok i guess.
Thanks for the help.

To be clear, the control range is NOT the distance from your drones to your target. It is the distance from YOU to your target. You could have your 45km range, be 44km from your target, with your drones 50km *behind* you, and still be able to order them to attack. |

You can deploy some ward IIs 100km off a gate, and pull your neut domi right up next to it. Even with 45km drone control range, you can still order the wards to attack whatever you might be neuting.
