We are not pirates and we don't claim to be. We are asset reallocation specialists.
I am not repaying a 10 mil ransom and I am not ordering anyone to repay a 10 mil ransom, when some 3rd party guy comes along and pops a pod that we have scrammed and then shoots at us.
Tough luck. Anyone who wants to try and reclaim the 10 mil on behalf of this individual is welcome to try.
This has been dealt with
I sat with my alt in Mai for some of the day and observed a lot of questionable ransoming techniques including:
Asking for 50 mil from a pilot, when he paid 'No, 50 mil each', etc etc, added to the smackzor they made in our public channel last night resulted in epic tarp being planned.
OP will be provided with a new set of +3's at my expense in due course. Thanks for this golden opportunity.

The inability of yourself and others to discuss things with me (or my directors) directly, leaves much to be desired. This is not a forum for discussion of alliance politics so I won't elaborate on your comment.
I will allow your blind hatred and ignorance to dictate your actions on the whim of rumors and misinformation.

I apologize for my delay in responding. I have been snowed out of my house for some time now. The loss of a single Moros is nothing more than embarrassing rather than a hindrance to our corporation. A pilot who engages a capital ship in low-security with his own capital, at a planet no less, is asking for things to be hot-dropped onto him. That is exactly what happened.
If we are interested in playing games like that then I would implore Neo Spartans to continue cyno's at planets and safespots. We can play the hot-drop game too.
Invitations to the Mai system are still open to all. We enjoy reallocating your assets into our station warehouse.
I dont think you get it, the poor chap lost 10 mil and +3 implants , wich your alliance member refused to reinburse after receiving ransom now the moros loss =1.9 bil + whatever modules, + implants on the pod (hope were slaves) amounts to a hughe loss , tbh , it has been dealt with the rest is nothing but macho crap you putting up |

Pirates like this give the rest of us a bad name and it really is a shame. Most pirates (good pirates who stay in the piracy business longer than a week) will honour ransoms, incidents of them being dishonoured aren't as common as people would make out.
Probably not, but they're the most talked about.
And as a general rule of thumb, never pay a ransom. There is no mechanic or guarantee they'll ever hold to their word. ______________ Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn. |

You also can not "deal" with us by destroying one ship, regardless of the cost. They have said they will return and we will be glad to engage them when they return. DREK pilots should be visible 2 weeks from now in Mai local once again. |

TBH, I find you're continued blase attitude to this incident quite worrying. After a massive round of childish smack both in game and on the forums you were profoundly pwned in a singular engagement, kicked from your alliance and turned into the laughing stock of Eve-O. And yet still you persist to invite your elders and betters to what is, frankly, the ******** of New Eden. A dead end lowsec system with a highsec outbound. If I were going to give the Eve Universe an enema, Mai is where i'd stick the tube... Exactly the sort of place where a third rate wannabe pirate corp with loose morals and looser bowels would reside.

No, you're right. There's no mechanic or guarantee people will honour their ransoms. Fortunately, this forum exists as a place to name and shame people who dishonour ransoms, and the corps that do honour their ransoms generally look upon such people as a threat to their business and take action in light of this. Meanwhile, on the other side of town . . . |

Good day sir.
A single engagement and a loss on our side is not much to us. Surprisingly I would consider anyone thinking it is a "huge loss" to have not really grasped the depth of some things in EVE. At MOST it is an embarrassment to myself and others who have posted in this thread and my corporation's name. It represents nothing more than a loss where a pilot foolishly decided to take a cap off a station in low-sec only to have a number of caps dropped on top of him. He should have known better and he was reminded of this fact.
Our removal from Eradication Alliance had little to do with the events in this thread. It had to do with an incident towards the NC that we did on purpose, directly against the NC. If you actually care to find out more about it you can convo me in-game or eve-mail me.
Or you can join Eradication and experience the management of things for yourself for a few months.
I will no longer comment on the "lol u got kicked from ur alliance" comments because that had little to do with this thread/event and more to the point -> it was on purpose.
As far as smack on the forums, I don't really care if my members smack talk. We are not a pirate corporation and never outright claimed to be. All we do is kill everyone and everything, just to take their stuff. If you want to reclaim other ransoms we have supposedly failed to honor, the door remains open.
And don't be hating on Mai... |

This clearly shows you got no idea whats going on in low sec... How many ransoms are made per day? My estimate would be 500-2000. How often do you see a post about a dishonoured ransom on the forums? maybe once every 3-4 day. If just 50 of these 500 people would think about using the forums upon a dishonoured ransom, you still have less than 10% risk of getting ripped off and killed. Personally I have never been witness to a dishonoured ransom and I know my corp and alliance have yet to dishonour one after 2 years in low sec.
So you might wanna reconsider that, because there are a lot of isk to be saved upon paying a ransom. |

QFT, I've offered ransoms sometimes worth up to 5 times less than what I've gotten off drops alone (no ship scanner ftl) only to be told to go forth and multiply. Some people need to apply a bit of logic. If you're being asked for a ransom of 30, and your ship+fitting is worth many times more that then at least test your luck.
I'm finding a large number of people refusing to pay recently, mainly due to the trolling of people like Mr Skye. The OP had his ransom dishonoured. It was dealt with. There are still a few honest pirates who like to keep the behaviour of those who are less than honourable in check. Calm Your Passion |

So now we merely have an issue of some people thinking he should return the isk and some people thinking he shouldn't.

Impressive numbers. Where did you pull them from? And we all know that every Eve players reads and writes on the forums, and thus, every ransom dishonored will be posted here .
My point is until pirates don't start cracking down on your own, and I mean seriously cracking down on your own people, your reputation will be built by those that don't follow their word. Period. When any corp dishonors a ransom, there should immediate outcry from the pirate community. That is, if you want to live off ransoms.

Thread was fantastic, would read again. Also, next time I honour a ransom, I'm going to ask my victim to post about his ransom was honoured. It won't be a condition of ransom (so no chance at pod or post lock), but a suggestion to help others not die.
