I am very excited about the new expansion coming up. I think it will bring alot more new stuff and keep the game interesting. I am a bit concerned about the accessibility of these new ships. If the resources for these ships are difficult to get through wormholes, and they're rare, and when you bring them back through and manufacture the parts for the T3 cruisers, how expensive are these ships going to be? What would be the point of even adding these ships if only the richest of the rich can fly them...anyone else a bit concerned?

No one has any idea.
Well the first ones will be ludicrously overpriced, of course.

only time will tell. Remember the ridiculous prices of datacores, salvage parts, rigs and data interfaces when they where just new? And know look at them again. Of course only the richest of the rich can afford them, at least in the beginning but that's normal since everyone will have the shiny new stuff but people still need to make them first (and figure out how before that) ----------------------------- OMG THE SKY IS FALLING! Contract me all your stuff so I can save it! |

I wonder if the quality of T3 ships will be highly modular as well. Might be fun to be able to build at least a crappy one for cheap. |

I am just old enough to remember when HACs were fairly new and a couple of hundred million apiece. Even though they were ZOMG powerful compared to T1 cruisers, they remain cruisers; and for a lot of what happens in this game, a cruiser hull isn't the answer. Back then, a ton of people said HACs weren't worth the money, and never would be.
It took years, but the price drifted down, and although I still don't see a ton of them, the HACs eventually became just another ship type, flown when the need and the desire and the wallet converge. I've got one, I love it, but it's really just a hangar queen for me; I can do most of what I do in cheaper hulls, so I fly cheaper hulls.
T3 isn't supposed to be the same quantum leap in combat effectiveness, so maybe the initial scarcity/novelty-driven expense won't be so huge or the wait so long. But, if supply of components is pre-nerfed in the way we've come to expect, T3 is going to start out being very rare and very expensive. If cheap T3 ever happens, I wouldn't expect it before 2011 or 2012. (Unless, of course, every ship you can build turns out to suck; but I've got more faith in CCP than that.)

Edited by: Armoured C on 09/01/2009 23:15:59 your forgetting it not a ship is part of a ship
the part shall still be expensive whent hey start but remember they arnt ships you need 5 parts and that they are interchangable aswell
just imaange in a year when the market is stocked up on t3 modules , it going to create a entirely new market demographic |

TBH I would like to see some NEW COOL Ships to a price I can "afford". Ships in the pricerange of 10 to 20 millions. All the new ships coming today almost all have a startprice ranging from hundred mill or so and upwards. Yes I can easily afford them. But living by the rule dont fly what you cant afford TO LOOSE, makes it so I wont be buying em. Yes, I am a cheapskate . But hundred million isk is still a lot of cash.
