My only gripe with T3 ships is that this modularity is limited soley to T3. This is a completely and fundamentally new methodology in ship building and design, all 3 tiers of the game could benefit from this. Currently it seems like its going to be another set of "rich boys toys" that mean nothing at all for new, or time restricted players. |

I can't help but think that anything that makes EFT less useful is a good thing -- not that it's a bad program, per se, just misused. Many people get along just fine without it, you know.

My two concerns for the t3 ships are this.
1. Balance. Will a t3 cruiser bbq a capital ship or a BS with ease? From my understanding you can get modules that give the ship different bonuses. IF that is the case could you not (in theory) make a t3 Cruiser that has 10% damage, 5% ROF, 7.5% tracking, and 5% damage again? I mentioned damage twice because several gallente t2 ships get a double damage bonus. Or A t3 tank with Amarr HAC resists, 10% more armor per level, 5% bonus to resists, 5% Cap recharge or Able to use interdiction module? As long as they are balanced, with no 5% ROF, 5%rof, 5% damage, 5% damage ships, I think they will be ok.
2. Price. Yes they should be expensive, yes they should require resources to make. No they should not be like tech 2 BS (biggest letdown in CCP's history considering how much you pay for what you get). Say I have minmatar BS level 5 and Love the tempest hull. Do I A. Shell out 500m for a Vargur. or B. purchase a carrier. Hmmmm 2nd rate shiney toy that I can never realisticly take out to pvp in or a capital ship. (No brainer of course,Option C. train gallente or amarr BS to 5 and get one of theirs, but that is beside the point). Ships should be flown on what is needed for the situation, not on price. Granted I know that certain are going to be primaried (Rare ships, Ewar Boats, faction ships, etc)and certain ships are going to be out of the price range of your average player (Titans and Moms), but t3 is a big step for this game, and shouldn't be limited to novelty collectors items. And for what it's worth, they should be available to all players, not just big alliances who can afford them.
Prices for them should go like this t1 frig, t1 destroyer, cruisers, T2 frigs, Interdictors, Tech 3 Frigates or similar size variant, Battlecruisers, t2 Cruisers, so on and so forth. |

I think it adds an exciting dimension to modifying ships, as well having to adapt on the fly to an unknown hostile force.

EFT will be fine with T3 ships. All it is is programming code; math; an xml spreadsheet, ffs. It's not like there's a little man figuring out algorythms in your fluffing hard drive. |

In all likelihood these things will be so expensive that no one will use them for pvp, they will just be for plexing, ratting, or mission running. Highly specialized to make lots of iskies basically. |

At fanfest they mentioned several hundred mil per component so upwards of 1.2- 1.5bil per ship of 5.
