i have accepted a courier contract that takes me to 0.0. unfortunately, for me, the station which i am supposed to deliver to, wont allow me access. how is this possible for a contract to be setup that is not completable? how can i get access to this station? set standings with corporation/alliance that owns it? any suggestions?

I don't believe there's much to do - it's your responsibility to make sure that you can fulfill the contract before accepting it, afaik.... --

Courier contracts can be created with any origin or destination: it is the responsiblity of the person accepting the contract to assess the feasiblity of completing the mission.
You are unlikely to be able to gain access to that station. In future it is recommended that you ignore any courier contracts involving player owned stations unless you are certain that you already have docking rights.

You might as well concider your collateral gone. Take the package back to safe space, repackage it to open it. There is no need to wait until the contract expires unless you are still holding on to some hope of completing it. It is unlikely to be anything of value, but you might get lucky. |

The contract is completable, just not by you. Unfortunately for you this is perfectly acceptable, and you should be sure to check whether you can complete the contract next time you take one.
At this point, you could get in contact with the person who set up the contract and ask them about it, or you could just break it open. The first is unlikely to work as the chances are this was an intentional thing in order to make a bit of money, the second is unlikely to net you anything worthwhile but you may at least be able to get back a small amount of ISK from selling whatever it contained.

Edited by: Cyprus Black on 13/01/2009 00:32:24 I think it's been stated before, but 95% of all courier contracts are either scams or the reward is far too low for the effort required.
Mostly scams. Some tell tale signs of a scam is the destination, the number of jumps, unusually large collateral, size of the cargo, and sometimes the reward. |

There is no reason to tell someone what is in a courier package unless it is a scam.
Legitimate courier contracts will simply have a fair payment for that size package over the distance specified. The collateral will usually cover the product being shipped but could be many times more than its value. You would be foolish to have less collateral than the package is worth.
It IS possible for there to be non-scam contracts to 0.0 player owned outposts, however they intend for someone that does have access to do them. Most of them are probably scams though. Many people set them up for a good amount while they are camping a gate along a route, if they kill you, they win twice. |
