Edited by: Cornelius Poindexter on 13/01/2009 20:47:31 Hey all, I have returned to EVE recently, and am back in action with my two accounts. I have a retriever on my mining account, and my other account is the PvE, PvP combat account. I am in a start up Corp, so we don't have access to 0.0 as of yet. I haven't played since last March, so I am a little fuzzy with all of the details about EVE. Thanks in advance for helping:
Will I make any more ISK by mining Pyrox or Kermite in lwo sec than sticking with Veldspar in higher sec space? I know ore prices fluctuate, but is there a general rule of thumb here?
For "Buy" orders, do I have to fulfill the entire amount requested by the order, or can I supply a partial order?
Just to double check, MLU's apply to strip miners, correct?
Instead of using my second account for RAT patrolling in low sec, should I fit some mining lasers to a Kestrel and mine with the retriever in high sec?
In short, how can I maximize my ISK earning potential in non 0.0 space?
I have scoured the forums for answers, and read the mining guides provided in the stickies, but still have these questions. I appreciate any feedback I can get! Thanks again!

I would stick with Veldspar as trit is king right now.

You can fill a partial buy order, you do not need to fufill it entirely.

I believe so.

You can't fit any mining lasers to a Kestrel as it has no turret slots. Use the retriever to mine into giant secured cans anchored in a belt.

If you mine, by mining veldspar. Right now it is the best ore to mine in high sec. If you dont mine then mission running lvl 4's is better isk.

Two options: 1) Learn to do the math. or 2) Mine veldspar.
Option 2 is the correct option as of now, but if/when it changes you'll lose out so option 1 will serve you better long term.

You do not have to fill the entire order, however an order might have a minimum amount required to be able to sell to it. That amount is listed with the buy order and can range from 1 to the entire order.

Again: 1) Learn to do the math. or 2) No.

1) Run level 4 missions. or 2) Learn to do the math and make billions trading.
(Note the complete lack of 'mining' in those options.)

you could also train your second account for any industrial ship to haul the ore for you, or just train up to a hulk as well, fully rigged/cargo expanded they will have enough cargo space for like 15-20 mins i believe (never tried this) |

Cargo rigs and cargohold expanders give you roughly 17k of cargo. Even just a barely skilled char should fill that in 10 minutes or so. |

Use your kestrel to run level 1 encounter missions until you find one that has lots of veldspar roids. ---------------- Mutatis Mutandis |

Cargo Expander II's in lows, 5 GSC's, 2 Cargo Optimization I's, gives you ~21,700 m3 of ore per trip. |
