Just recently returned to the game, and have a new PC and docked its running at over 500fps!
In space at the lowest is around 350fps!
Now I have turned vsynq on capping it at 75fps as a temporary measure, but I was wondering if anyone knows the command to cap the fps at a selected amount?
Most games I have played have a /maxfps typoe of command you can use to limit the fps, if anyone could tell me what it is for EvE, or if there is any opther solution than using vsynq I'll be very gratefull.
Thanks in advance :) |

I think increasing the v-sync will force the refresh rate to decrease as it syncronises the refresh rate. Careful if you turn it off when running at over 500fps, in premium i assume, your graphics card may be forced to render it at over 500 fps causing it to seriously overheat. |

Dude, if you have no idea what you're talking about just don't bother answering.
V-Sync just tells the GPU to sync every frame with the monitor refresh rate so that data doesn't change while the frame is being drawn, therefore preventing tearing. The refresh rate does not 'decrease', it is constant. The graphics card should not overheat no matter how many fps it outputs. --------------------------------------

I think this would require developer attention. I play sometime on laptop i would prefer to keep it cool. 30fps are more than enough most of the time (this is not a first person shooter).

Hit ESC to go into settings, select Display and Graphics, make sure advanced settings is checked for. Set the present interval at : Interval one.
This will cap fps at 60...
Keep my gfx card from reach boiling point when docked at least

secondly no, FPS matters always for smooth viewing, you can never have enough (unfortunately only up to your monitors refresh rate).. there is a very distinct difference between 30 and 60.
ED: and you don't want it going any lower than vsync. you had no reason to create this thread as you've already solved your own 'problem'
