Alright firstly I would like to say thank you for your time in reading this so i will get straight to the point!
My friend wants to start Eve up but wants to have a Optimal plan to get herself going.
Im going to give her a set of plus fives as a welcome gift.
Her aims are to put the plus 5 in asap then go down a route like this:
Be able to run 6 planets, Have good trade, socail skills, and be able to run level 4s solo and having balanced attributes after her second re-map so she can play around with other skills after. Oh and she wants to be Gallente...
Any help would be excellent! |

Well, you might use EveMon to input the goals and see what she needs to do. Pretty cut and dried really. |

If you know what you want, planning with EVEmon is ideal. http://evemon.battleclinic.com/
I'd recommend not spending too much time training for stuff that you may not like, such as PI. Train it a bit. Try it out. make sure you enjoy it before training skills to 4 and definitely 5.
I tend to train all skills to 2, as this is relatively painless at about 2 hours max on the highest rank skills. I then play with them, and if I find I use them, I'll train level 3. If I find I use them a lot, I'll train level 4. If I find I can't function without them, I'll train them to 5.
Note that training levels 1-4 takes about 20% of the time to train just level 5, but level 4 yields 80% of the benefits.
Skill training in EVE is mostly about setting priorities, which can change. |

Download Evemon. Do your own work.
Alternatively, I will give you such a plan if you pay me 100 million isk for my time. You may wire the funds to this account. If you're lucky, someone else may respond with another offer undercutting my price.
Why should we do your work for you, for free? |

To run plus 5 implants you need cybernetics to 5. Waiting for this will suck for a new player. Save your plus 5's and go with 3's as it' only takes cybernetics 1.
Have her buy and inject every skill book she can inject right off the bat. Train cybernetics to 1 Plug in the plus 3's right after cybernetics 1 is done.
Train all skills to L1. Then train them to L2. Then train to L3.
Now train cybernetics to 5. Plug in the 5's.
Train every skill with a 1x multiplier to L5. Buy and train every skill she can inject again. Train to 1 then 2 then 3 again.
This is a crap load of skills in relatively little time.
Now remap to something she is interested in. Example perc/will for ships/guns/missles.
You still have a remap left over when done.
See me ingame if you need more help. |

if you really want to start off with cybernetics V, then by all means do so. it takes quite some time, but it's worth it in the long run.
now as for a skill plan after that, it really depends on what she wants to do. if she wants to start off with some self-sufficiency, training the PI skills is a good call. luckily eve is not just about skills, so by the time she truly understands and enjoys PI, she will have had plenty of time to train a few trade skills to accompany her PI endeavors (no need to go all the way on those unless trading will be her thing). next up are some social skills, to help her once she goes for missions. priority is that skill that increases the rate of standingchange. then, once she starts doing her lvl 1's, have her train armor skills to 4, hybrids and drones to 4 and frigs to 4. from thereon, it's a small step to cruisers, bigger guns and better tank.
seriously tho, get EVEmon.
kind regards, Ivan |

You're talking about a broad skill-set that's essentially "training everything that seems interesting", so....
Remap: Perception/Inteligence, even split for your first remap. Don't waste points in any other stat.
+5 implants requires Cybernetics 5, so kind of a good way to bore a new player to death to train that first. Train it to one or two and grab some +3s instead, get 5 later.
Week 1: Follow the basic spaceship command track for the first week or so, all the random skills out of the training missions, frigates 4 to destroyer to cruisers 3 / spaceship command 4 for BCs, access to the relevant race's weapons at at least a basic level.
Week 2: Once you have the skeleton of your skill tree through BCs and medium equipment, grab the basic social skills and the specialized skills relevant to the NPC corp you're working for. Train these to 2 or so, maybe 3, something that doesn't waste too much of your time.
Grab the very basic Planet management skills at this point, set up a planet base or two to make sure you really want to inflict that part of the game on your poor, helpless friend.
Week 3-4: Go back to ship skills. Train drones to at least 3 if it wasn't already one of your ship's primary weapon skills. Expand your core fitting skills like mechanics, engineering, and weapon upgrades, and the capacitor skills to 3 or 4. Do the same with weapon secondaries for your primary weapon type. Basically take your BC from barely flyable to decently powerful.
Second Month: Have your friend actually play the game and train skills according to where most of his time is actually spent. If he really loves the missions, fill out the mid-sized ship skills and move up into the Battleship size for level 4s. If he prefers planet management, dump more SP into that.
Longer-term: You'll want all of your core fitting and capacitor skills to V. You'll probably want basically any recommended skills for your battleship and the modules you use in PvE at at least 4, most of them at V. This will take a while, and when you've got a lot of IV to V jumps to make you might consider using the second free remap on a more focused map (Int/Mem for science/industry and some support skills, Per/Will for spaceship command and most offensive skills, Will/Per for drones) and do a bunch of skill Vs with similar attributes. |

If you dont know what to train then get all your core skills to 5, it will help out somewhere and everyone should get them sooner rather than latter. I plan to get whats left at 4 to 5 after i finish off the few gunnery skills i have left (only 3 months left) AFK cloaking doesn't earn anything, so it needs a buff! |

Also consider +5 implants are incredibly expensive for a new player (assuming no GTC selling tomfoolery) and you'd end up paying more for the implants than my esteemed colleagues above would charge you for their "kind" advice. Androgynous Caldari Cross-dresser |

Any help would be excellent! For the combat the 6 most important skills are weapon upgrades, advanced weapon upgrades, energy systems operation, energy management, electronics and engineering. Those should be taken to 4+ ASAP. Tell her to focus at first. All the social skills in the world won't make a difference if you're stuck doing lv1 missions because you still can't fly anything but a frigate. Tell her to work on being able to do lv4 missions in a battleship first, then social, then PI, in that order. Other than that have her download evemon. |

And yet it's the people above this post of yours that have given you the best advice.
Perhaps you should consider the possibility that if you hand everything to this new player on a plate she will quickly get bored of the game. What are you going to do if that happens; sheepishly ask if you can sell her toon? Better to give her the EVEMON and eveboard tools and help her work it all out herself so she develops some committment to her character. |

Do NOT fit her out from the start!
Let her do the tutorials on her own pace, but be there immediately if she needs help and/or advice. Then, when she already has a faint clue about whats possible, show her what you enjoy but also what you do not enjoy, maybe even something you didn't encounter for yourself. Help her making her mind up. THEN make a plan with her.
In short: First ensure the motivation, then the method.
PS: And do not forget to show her that this game is for fun, not to fulfill an education plan. When shes bored, take her to a trade hub and challenge her to be the first to detect a link in chat that is NOT an obvious scam ;) |

my brother wanted to try out eve and i gave him so much info and a set of +3 implants.
after 1 day he was already bored...
let her play the game for herself. if she wants to go faster after 1 or 2 weeks you can still inject some isk. what is 1 or 2 weeks in the grand scheme of things in eve?
just tell her to NOT PUSH THE FREAKING REMAP button on her own... i wasted all mine because i didn't know... I DIDN'T KNOW |

As new player dont waste time on cybernetic lvl 5 to get +5implants because while you use remap you can got super atributes value with set +4 like 31 perc - 25 will and focus on gunery missile and ships skill tree etc, and here almost no difirence at skill speed traning because as new player you probably learn multiple skills at first to lvl 4, + 5 implants are good while you train some skills to lvl 5 with multiple x 6-8 etc. |

I was reading through all of this and I want to thank everyone for posting great help. I'm only a week into it all and by reading here it seems i may be going about training wrong. I'm doing tutorials now, own a frigate(Tristan) and want to fit it with missiles, however it seems I need to train light missiles skill to lvl 5. It's training to lvl 4 now and I know what you mean by getting bored. I played EVE over a year ago on a trial account but don't remember having to train so high to use light missiles. Did they change that recently in a patch? |

Sounds like you're looking at a tech 2 light missile launcher or a tech 2 light missile. Tech 2 has a little icon in the corner.
tip: Don't overlook your drone in that Tristan, drones are vicious little things even with just a few skill points. |
