i think they have done it in jove space in the distant past, iirc that's how some people managed to get their clones installed there ;O

How do the teams get there? Are they and their ships simply teleported over there? How are backup ships and such handled?

you get teleported there, and then back once match is over (so you can reship etc, but you only have more than 1 match in same day on the final day i think) |

Hmm... I thought it was because you used to be able to set your medical clone anywhere remotely, but that quickly got fixed very early on. Don't know for sure because I never did it.

hm that was probably back when you were able to join NPC corps, could join society of conscious thought and then set clone there..
but people did it later on using tourney too (and maybe other events that took place in jove space, like the amarr emperor inauguration ceremony that Deathwing smuggled a scorpion fit to and tried to assassinate him)
