Hello all, over the past few years i've seen mineral prices skyrocket, from 1 isk for a unit of Tritanium to approx. 4 isk. This means that miners are making more money then they did in the past.. I do not enjoy mining so to me this is Unfair.. I declare that Concord/DED should Double the bounties of all npc's. With the raising prices of tech 2 items, and the soon to come introduction to tech 3 items, i really think a pay raise for those of us who don't mine and can't enjoy the raising prices of minerals would be in order...

So along with the raise in the bounties, would you make all NPC's 2x-4x stronger? Trit isnt the only mineral requied in manufacture, thus theres still time spent on the others. I think miners are finally reaping some of the benefits of staring at the screen for hours.

All mineral prices have gone up not just Tritanium, i was using that as an example, and no i wouldn't make the Npc's stronger because they didn't make it take longer to mine, so they shouldn't make it take longer to kill.... |

Not just NPC bounty values should be increased but also LP value gained from missions. |

Well, you could always go mining. Its your choice to mine or rat. I could go to 0.0 and fin a hauler spawn worth 150M and kill it in 3 minutes. Does that make the miners scream bloody murder? The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
I do agree however that they need to up the LPs recieved.

There is no guarantee that you find a hauler spawn or that you find a 4Bil worth of officer spawn. While ore is guaranteed for the miners. |

Not true, Mega and Zyd prices are lower than they used to be, Zyd was a bit high for a few months in the autumn of 2008 but have dropped down again to a reasonable level. Pyerite about the average price it have had thorough the game.
Mining is not that terribly profitable anyhow, so I don't agree with the idea missions should need to be more profitable for that or any other reason either.
(Edit: No I don't mine at all any longer - just said in passing.)
Is it a new forum rule. That for everyone posting something you don't agree on. You should accuse them of being a troll? ;) |

Everything except Trit and Pyrite are down from what I remember them being a year ago.

I know enough about economics to know that if you put more currency out there, you will cause inflation, there by making the trit cost even more than it did before.
ISK is only worth what you can buy with it. If your average BS rat only paid out 1,000 isk, you would be looking at paying something more in the ballpark of .04 isk per trit. If that were the case I can speculate that you would still be complaining if it went up from .01 isk to .04 isk.
The people who are putting buy orders up for these minerals are getting their money from what eventually trickles down to them from people who rat and mission run. So what you are really complaining about is the ratio of people who are running missions and ratting vs the people who mine.

All prices in EVE are a result of supply and demand mechanics. Nothing to fix.
If you mean miners earn too much, go hunt them :) |

Edited by: Rumple Minze on 19/01/2009 19:43:21 I'm not saying that 'the market prices need fixing' , nor am i saying that giving npc's higher bounties will change the eveconomy good or bad, maybe i choose a wrong title for this topic, but what i'm saying is that Miners can make more isk easier in less time then Npc'ers unless that Npc'er gets really lucky on an extremely rare chance, and i believe it should be a little more balanced... Ok I'm sorry, but you can make WAY more money ratting down in good 00 space than mining, unless you turn your minerals around into production.
And running missions is only a little bit less than mining in empire, unless you're really good.
BTW I have a very elaborate program I made that calculates the isk/m and hour based on skills and refining, and at 4.08 is you can only ming about 11m isk/h with all level 5 in a hulk (3 t2 strips w/ t2 crystals, t2 MLUS) and that's if the roid never runs out and you always have someone hauling =P. |
