Most people use a combination of programs to produce an end result video.
FRAPS is used to get the game footage, then you'll need art, video editing and codec compression programs to get it all together properly. Hang out and ask questions in the MyEve forum.

First, you need a decent in-game video recorder. examples are Fraps and Xfire's ingame recorder, although quality can vary depending on the program you use.
What they record into is pretty meaningless, since you will need to edit your raw footage using a editing program, from Windows Movie Maker at the low end to stuff like Adobe Premier at the top. Most will allow your film to be compiled as a .wmp file. Some of these programs, especially at the higer end allow you to black out certain areas of the screen, although I don't use them myself.
now then, about the iskies... --- Sig Starts Here --- Lord Haur - Imperial Academy Logistical Support

That X-fire thingy promotion at the end of last year at least had one good side-effect -> Xfire can capture EVE in-game movies decently (you still need to compress them afterwards, and you'd better have a lot of free HDD space while capturing). |

Would really love to have an eve "demo capture" program instead of direct video ripping.
Something that would copy off all the info sent to the client and give you a file that you could 'play' into a simulator.. Think the big-white-room in Matrix. Once you have this booted up, you can fly around inside the battle, see any and every view and output to video formats
And it should end up more efficient then "try and capture a hundred gigs of skipping images in the middle of a fleet fight And try to prune it down and compress later

Well, yeah, you're not the first to ask, and not the last either But I have a feeling this is really, really low priority |
