It's all a trick. My theory is the new expansion will be completely different and everything we've been told so far is a lie. There may even be a big "gotcha" come March 10th with no expansion at all! |

If you consider that the original meaning of apocrypha is "those having been hidden away" the name actually makes a lot of sense. |

March 10th? It'll be delayed of course. Delayed until April 1st... |

Because Trinity had three...ummmmm.
Because Red Moon Rising had, err, a moon that was red, err, somewhere in the game.
Because Empyrean Age was all about empires fighting each other...oh wait.
Titles get picked mostly because they sound cool, rather than they actually make sense. That's why we had EVE Online instead of Dave Online. |

A bit off topic, but PLZ make the wormholes lead to actual new systems and not just some deadspace pocket to hunt for t3 loot plzzzz.
Back on topic, I quite like this new expansion name. Quantum rise is a bit too cliche and over-used these days (The quantum part is anyway..) |

If you're going by the wikipedia article, then you forgot to use the whole quote:
Quote: Apocrypha (from the Greek word ἀπόκρυφα, meaning "those having been hidden away"[1]) are texts of uncertain authenticity, or writings where the authorship is questioned.

Three women were in a bar talking about their husbands and how they made love.
The first woman said, "My husband is a marriage counselor, and before we make love, he brings me flowers and candy. I like that."
The second woman proclaimed, "My husband is a mechanic, he makes love a little rough, I like that."
The third woman replied, "Well my husband works for CCP and all he does is sit on the edge of the bed and tells me how good it's going to be when I get it."
Ooooh, i just had to do it :) |

It's funny, but it's old and I think the original was about MS or something like that. Come up with new stuff! |

Also - is this dev lacking in a sense of humour?
I'm not trying to troll, but if someone does crack a rubbish old joke at your expense, you have a choice of laughing along with it anyway, or point out the flaws in the joke...
Only one of these courses of action makes you look cool.

If/when they do add more bloodlines, I want the new min/max archetype to be Minmatar. Hundreds of Vargur missioning their tails off has comedy value, for me. ----------------

As I just mentioned elsewhere, you (CCP) named the system to massage some issues with Moon Minerals after a form of chemistry and speculative philosophy practiced in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and concerned principally with discovering methods for transmuting baser metals into gold and with finding a universal solvent and an elixir of life - something now generally known to be an utter load of unworkable nonsense.
So I can understand people being nervous about expansion names and their meaning in a modern context! |

So you managed to snag the license for Tele TubbysÖ?
Apocrypha in an Eve sense would mean something we have not seen/heard of before and/or something so out of place that the head honchos got rid of it in the beginning. If you start plastering Hello KittyÖ logos all over I'll get on with my life .. I swear, I will .. dare me!!!!
If the meaning of the word has changed, it is no doubt thanks to the Catholic Church who must be getting fed up with people wanting access to their library. The Bible is composed of a small fraction of the texts that were available when it was canonized by the various councils from 2nd century onwards. |
