I have a 1440x900 monitor, is it possible to run EVE in a 1024x768 window?

Known "bug" chance back to fullscreen, in Fullscreen mode select lower resolution. aply and then set it to window mode. that should help. if not you may have to find and edit then .... *thinks...* .. Preff.ini file somewere in your eve directory. should contain resolution modes for full and window mode.
note that you will have less preformance in window mode. be shure to scale grapics a bit down, specialy bevore running a 2th client. |

I don't think the windows can be dragged so it's really not better to have the windows smaller than the full screen minus the explorer bar. My window is set to 1280 x 960 and my descktop 1280 x 1024. I can move from window to window this way and still get full screeen gaming. |

Edited by: AnonyTerrorNinja on 23/01/2009 10:17:21 You'll need to first apply windowed mode at that resolution and then go to the options again to change it to whatever resolution you want (between 1024x768 and your monitor's resolution).
I've had it rarely happen to me that I couldn't change the resolution even while doing this if I was a) at the login screen on the client in question or b) had another windowed client running on a different monitor/adapter already.
If that happens, simply restart the client while it's configured to run in windowed mode and give it another bash.
Failing these steps, the game or your card might not be recognising that there are other resolutions available to it for D3D rendering. If this is the case, try using the nVidia Control Panel to create the resolutions you want (you won't actually be using them, you just need to force the driver into registering it as a possible resolution), and see if it becomes available to you.
If none of this works, take two handfuls of rice, a feather plucked from a migrating seagull's tail, a sprig of freshly cut wheat and a small toy car.
Make a circle with the rice around the car, placed on the floor, on the feather. Then take the wheat grains from the sprig and sprinkle them over the car while chanting "damnit, damnit, damnit, damnit..." for about 5 minutes, and hope the issue is resolved either by reinstalling your drivers or with the next patch/expansion. :3
*edit*
It might be worth noting btw that you won't achieve 'full' performance unless you can match the game's rendering output to the framebuffer output of your card 1:1. ie: using something like shiftwindow to get the screen contents to perfectly fit to your desktop.
Not sure, but I think that if you can at least get the height to sit neatly within your desktop, you can still keep the performance up - but then, what resolution could you run the game at apart from 1440x900 that will give you that 900 height? ;X ---
