Late last night while trying to find fun things to do with the Market, I came across the Develop section of Eve-Central including the nightly CVS data dump. A while back I had been trying to do a project and had given up because I couldn't find the data needed, but this file might just have the info I need.
The problem is I'm having trouble making use of it.
Specifically, if I understand it correctly, each item for sale on the market is identified by a unique "typeid." But I don't see any place - in this file or in another file - that matches "typeid" to the in game name of the item I would recognized. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but does anyone know if there is a file or a part of a file that will match up in game item names to the Eve-Central identifiers?
Or, even better, is there a nightly dump of [Item name / Median Market Price] for each item? This is the information I'm really trying to get.

I'd say the same as Brock if I wasn't in the middle of using this for an app I'm making.
you are correct the typeid is the item number from the eve database export, so what does this mean? you need to search the eve technology lab forum for the QR database export from ccp. There are many different formats of it.
you will need to compare the type id to the item table in the database to find the real name of the item.
as for a nightly avg, well they have a marketstat xml return but not a nightly build, for more info on marketstat check the dev api on eve-central.

Perhaps you should try a basic search for the information requested in the first question.
Hopefully you won't overlook the answer, like you did when you were already on the page which answered your second inquiry about median price (see marketstat_xml.. You will still need to know what a typeid is).
Next time, try a different forum,as well, though I'm sure the mods will move this there anyway, eventually.

Hey thanks Chip. We were able to figure it out a few days ago but didn't bother to close this thread because of how far we had thought it had fallen on the thread list. Thanks again though. |
