After 4 years in the game and retiring from pvp and to many fleet battles to remember, i settled for making isk by providing the pvp/pve market via T2 invention with modules etc.
It keeps people happy and makes me isk
I still indulge in various aspects of game, taking it to a further level when it takes my fancy |

Originally by: Mostly Amazing I like EVE a lot, but every once and a while I log in thinking "what should I do now?". The past few days i've already done a lot of missions and some PvP with my friends but EvE is called "the game where everything is possible!".
So I need some ideas on what else I can do. I want to know what keeps you guys busy and what you spend most time doing.
What do you do when you're logged in to EvE?
Failing all else, I have a channel where I talk to my various friends. One of them usually needs a scout or a cyno or some extra DPS in their gang or whatever.
Multiplayer. It means something. |

I play with my skill plan.
I buy things and sell them in 0.0 for profit.
I scan down complexes and do them.
I kill people.

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 23/01/2009 20:39:58 I went on a T2 spending spree after getting Caldari Cruiser 5 a couple weeks ago, so right now I'm sort of rebuilding my wallet back up into the half bil range via missions. I gotta get back into the PvP game though and put those new ships to use. Since they're Caldari they're better suited for gangs and unfortunately my current schedule means I don't have access to the game itself at the corp's peak hours. At least since I'm not as active as I want to be I can stomach training Advanced Weapon Upgrades to 5, finally. When I'm active I end up with a bunch of partially trained skills.

Oh, and I'm also very modest.
Is there any possible way to be unsuccessful at ninja salvaging?
Forget to train probing skills?
Anyway, I tried to get into ninja salvaging, great way to **** people off and get agro for ganks, but i definitely get more isk in 0.0 using my probing skills there.
Plus, plenty of opportunity for getting friends killed in new and exciting ways.

I always preferd to have like a little list of stuff you want to do, like minor and major goals. Some would be easy to reach others might take years to accomplish.
10 Things To Do In EvE Before You Quit:
10) Singlehandedly mine out a full belt in 0.0 space with only a Retriever. 9) Appear on the friendslist of at least 100 other players 8) Visit every solarsystem in the universe at least once (roadtrip) 7) Visit all landmarks in Eve atleast once (tourist) 6) Build your own Spacestation (outpost) 5) Start an Alliance and conquer a constellation in 0.0 space 4) Train every skill in the game to lv4 3) Singlehandly mine and build all the components for your own Mothership. 2) Invent and build every single Tech II item, ammo, and ship in the game at least once and sell it with a profitmargin. 1) Use every single shiptype, from t1 to t2 and from noobship to dreadnaught, at least once to kill another player with in lowsec or 0.0
EVE is a vast place and there is so much to do from adventuring to social stuff and making friends, from minor industry to tycoon level production and trading, from solo and small gang pvp to interstellar conquest. I guarantee you that if you try to do all 10 things on that list you will be busy and entertained for many years. Currently i am at 5 out of 10 and after 3 years still have the feeling i only barely scratched the surface of everything this game has to offer.

Edited by: Onyx Celestia on 23/01/2009 22:40:18 Yeah, get your Astrometrics skills up there if you're bored. Even if you aren't the sort to scan out low sec deadspace missioners or what have you, imminent expansion Apocrypha's wormhole exploration should make good use of them.
You could also work on building up your corp (and your CEO skills if needed so more players can join).
If you mission for one NPC corp until your corp has 8.0 standing with that dock, everyone you recruit into your player corp can get jump clones there, as long as the dock offers med clones. I think all traders and refiners in your corp will also get benefits from your corp's standings with that dock when they sell or refine there, as long as it has refining available. Make sure the mission corp you pick is small and out of the way so no one else coming into your player corp will likely have missioned for it (or else your player corp's standings with them become an average of all those in your player corp missioning there instead of just your standings affecting things). If you build up enough corp faction, you can also erect your own POS in empire to research BPOs with (you can technically research tech 1 BPOs at NPC Science and Industry docks, but good luck finding open slots).
And remember, tech 3 ships are coming with Apocrypha as well.
You could also try Factional Warfare, or use eventual corp standings to plunge your entire unsuspecting corp into when they least expect it... |
