They could bring in someone who reads mouths, though all you'd get from that would be "mo.... mo... mo... mo..."

he nice people at EVERADIO hosted interviews with EVETV'S experts and CCP Officials all week, including CCP Charlie, CCP Mindstar, CCP Claw, DJthebaron and myself.
If you couldn't make any of these dates,we also released Part One of The Drone Bays official Interviews last week, with our new Host, Experts and Commentators and you can expect Part 2 of the Interviews by the end of the week!
During the eve-radio shows we found out the coulour of Soundwave's Underpants, who was the worse transformer, and that I have a past life as an Olympic Limboer and that CCP Charlie beats me at new game "Eve-er or Beaver". Luckily during the official podcasts, we also discussed the ways to view the tournament, the rules and a bunch of other fun stuff.
For more info go here http://virginworlds14.libsyn.com/ to catch up on the podcast. If not, I will catch you on the first offical day of the 6th Alliance Tournament Saturday
Part 1 is a gentle introduction to the tourney, Part Two is MAXIMUM CARNAGE

I'm working on a new format for the live dev blogs, mainly to address the criticism that they weren't interactive and/or relevant enough. There's a couple of ideas floating around on how we can make them more like actual chats rather than lectures, but it's all still in the planning stages. Rest assured they will return soonÖ. |

That remains to be seen. It really depends on whether we have someone who has the time to transcribe an hour's worth of broadcasting.

The live dev chats will always be broadcast using EVE Voice, not third party clients. |

I can remember in the days I spent on IRC when this kind of thing was around that you'd have a speaker and a moderator; anyone other than the speaker wanted to talk, they simply sent a message to the moderator, who would find an appropriate moment to grant the individual the ability to speak. |

mainly what is needed is some way of limiting the rate people can post at, or some kind of auto blocking feature. the spam is the only real problem. without the spam, people could actually post questions. which would drastically improve the quality of the live chats. i remember the first few chats, when they weren't overloaded with spam, they were really really good, cause we could ask questions on the fly. SO, just find some way to control the spam, and allow us to post in the chat channel. Also, work on people's mic using skills, some people are nice and loud, while others can barely be heard.

If you're not going to bother transcribing them, there's no point in doing them at all. As it stands, it's yet more advantage to players who can be on straight after downtime, rather than be at work/asleep

Good god, by thinking of the spam in the dev blog channel, I can't believe what would happen if you actually let the morons TALK. Geez, I'd get a headache in two seconds tops.

They've always done dev blogs at around 6-8 GMT AFAIK. Which is 6-8 hours AFTER downtime. |

A good format for the live blogs (and the normal ones), is that every time someone makes a thread about having a blog, it should be pushed back two weeks. |

Of course, you could always have a bot record a log of the dev chats and post the log daily to some dump...there's a website that does that for major IRC networks for "dev" channels (mostly Linux distributions and the like).
And of course, bandwidth wise...what's bandwidth? Plaintext rules ;) |
