Has this been brought up? Will there be a lottery or more of a 'first come, first served' process for purchasing bars/storefronts in stations? I imagine this being quite the issue for the more popular stations. If priority is given to corps with current offices in-station this would be good to know ahead of time as well....
Anyone have any links to this information or have heard something?

Indeed....I'm willing to sell most of my assets in order to open up a nice little spot in Amarr, personally. What's a few dreadnoughts compared to a s****y nightclub :)
Plus for us nerdy RP types this is pretty much what we've been waiting years for... |

Nope. Only the verb to ****, which is what you get if you remove the S and the Y from your word. |

Well I assume that you will have the option to not leave your ship, which will mean WIS will not mean much to you. |

I wonder if its going to optional in the same sense as 'mining' as a career will be optional though.
i.e. people that go for WIS will benefit 'somehow'. There has to be a way to make isk in WIS. |

I couldn't care less, I make money without WIS, it's just another fail eye candy feature.
However, if it's going to divert the flow of the market, or have something unique from other stations spreading the market across many other systems (other than jita) I would probably reconsider my opinion of WIS.
Oh, and poker ;) |

That makes isk for the owner of the storefront correct? What about those that are just 'walking about'?

My money is on first come first served, since that's how most things in EVE are done.
They will probably have a similar system as with office rental, where the rent increases based on the popularity of the station.
Corps with offices already there will of course have physical WiS offices once the patch launches. But they won't get priority on the empty storefront spaces.
A lot of people assume Jita IV-4 will be the hot location, but I am skeptical. First, everyone there is pretty much there to shop or sell, and from what we know regarding the specs, when you go into WiS you won't be able to buy and sell off the regular market. It'd be great to be able to manager your market orders while sitting at a bar, but because WiS will be on a different server, not sure if that's possible or something CCP would even want to allow because cross-server traffic would cause lag on both ends.
In addition, if you are trying to get people to come check out your bar/store/whatever, it would be a major deterrence to require them to come to Jita to get to it. |

You could shake your ass, and other players pay you to either continue, or stop and leave the area.
Or maybe there'll be npc groupies who'll pay you to show up at their children's birthday parties or some such nonsense. |

I think a word censor is out of place on the EvE forums. I mean the game is one where you can lie, cheat, murder, steal, do drugs, and sell slaves but say a naughty word and OH NO. Its just text.

That's not true. Currently you can solialize with anyone any where. Regardless of what you are doing or where you are.
With ambulation you can only see them if they stop playing EvE, dock at the same station with you, and have walked to your location in the station.
Why would I do this when I can talk to you from anywhere? |

IRL you can email or talk to anyone from anywhere on cel phone, why would you ever want to meet anyone in person to socialize?
I think for some people there is still enjoyment in actually seeing the person/avatar you are conversing with, even if it is not strictly required in order to socialize. in real life or game...

My money's on a lottery held beforehand, not unlike the system for selecting competitors in the Alliance Tournament. Interested parties will front a certain amount of ISK to get their name in the hat for a storefront in a particular WiS-enabled station and then have a chance to be randomly selected to occupy that storefront.
After this initial lottery and the official launch of WiS, storefront owners would acquire the ability to buy or sell stores at their leisure.

Get out of the night club to some nice dark alley with the pimps & drug pushers, then (you can't use the dance emote is the original stance from CCP, though it might be allowed on a dance floor, I guess). Rude gestures and a lot of power-emoting might happen, though.
I do assume a good number of people oogling the exotic dancers, though.

Actually, no. Over half of Eve's players are in the US according to the stats I read. I believe UK players are second place, though.

Half of eve's accounts are in the US, but it seems like there are more quiet antisocial empire-dwelling forum-ignoring US players than European.

They could try an inverse auction. Worked quite nicely in another MMO a couple of years ago.
Bidding could start at some unreasonable amount - say 1 trillion ISK - and be cut in half every day until someone purchases the slot or a minimum value is reached. |
