As subject, I'm wondering if I'll get a major improvement in my cruise missile damage if I fit 2 TP or if one is enough and keep the slot for something else, like another hardner

Also consider a target painter and webber combo. Especially if you use torps.

But web works on 10km and BS/BC and even cruisers rarely come so closer, for the frigates ecc I use drones

I use 2 TP on a Cruise Golem [working on trading up for a Torp Golem ;) ]. I have 2 cruise launcher groups so i can split fire on ships that don't deserve a full salvo. This lets me paint both targets. I've also noticed that 2 painters make a big difference on elite frigates. Yes I usually use small T2 drones on those, but not everything always goes according to plan - especially with drones that occasionally act strangely)
One painter and one web might work as good or better for orbiting fgs, but not so well vs mwding frigs at 60km. |

gallente navy is -60% and 14km standard, 18km with overload, priced around 50million
dunno if it has the range to really be worth it on a golem though. might actaully be worth it on angels/merc missions
and I believe 2 rigor rigs and you get close to enough effectiveness with 1 painter, although I have also read that 2 rigor rigs it doesn't really matter if you have a painter, and 2 rigor rigs and 2 painters is the most effective.

My issue with rigs is that it typically requires two rigs to effectively replace one module.
Might be worth trying two Rigors and one painter. A hardener can be pretty crucial to the tank and that is what I would stick in the second mid slot instead of a second painter if at all possible.
Don't forget the Signal Focusing and Frequency Modulation skills if you use a painter. |

2 TP only if you use T2 Fury CMs. With T1 or Faction CMs 1 Painter is enough. With 1 Painter you will make the full damage on Targets >150 sig thats all BS, BCs and 90% of the Cruisers. The best combination are 2 Flare+2 TP(T2 Fury) or 2 Flare+1TP(T1 CN). |

it is better to use rigs which make your warhead more precise... rigor rigs II... for cruise one target painter is enough, for torpedoes 2 target painters would be ideal on a Golem

T1/CNs has 225 exploradius. A TP on the Golem gives +51% Sigradius. With one TP you will hit all BCs and all BSs full and many of the Cruisers. With Rigors instead of Flares you will only hit some of the Cruisers with more damage.
T1/CNs has 129 Explovelo. All NPCs are faster than 129m/s even the BSs are orbiting with 140m/s. With flares instead of Rigors you will hit everything with more damage. |

If you look at mission damage formula then relation between target signature and missile signature has bigger effect on damage target is reciving than target speed / missile exp velcity relation. Thus lowering your missile signature and increasing the target signature is more effective for doing full damage to your target than increasing the missile expl velocity (with flares) and increasing the target signature with painters.
You do not see those speeds in missions where flare is more effective than rigor. The 'break even' point is approx 1000 m/s target speed above what flare would be more effective than rigor. As a rather rough ballpark ofc as it's depending on several factors.

OK, you are right.
2 Rigor+1TP or 2 TP with that you will hit nearly all orbiting Cruisers, BCs and BSs full. 2 Rigor+2 TP if you use T2 Fury. |
