I'd say after nearly 2 years I have a pretty good grasp on game mechanics, however I got a killright on my alt that's got me curious on how she received the killright.
I was under the impression killrights are transferred when you commit a hostile act (point/scram/web/ECM/target paint/damp/tracking disrupt/shoot) on another ship, in a criminal way that is subsequently destroyed.
- Player A attacks/aggresses Player B in a criminal way. If Player B: - Doesn't shoot/agress back - Get's his ship destroyed Then: - Player B gets killrights on player A.
However on the day my alt allegedly was involved in the destruction of a ship, she was in a remote sensor boosting/repping scorpion. She had no offensive weapons or ewar. She was not on any killmails. In fact she only had corpmates that she was boostign locked up - no ship outside of corp was even locked by her.
Does remote boosting in any way a ship that commits a crime (resulting in destruction of a ship that didn't fight back) transfer killrights on the boosting ship? I know it gives me GCC - I just didn't think kill rights could be transferred if an offensive act wasn't committed.
If repping/helping a criminal also transfers killrights - I may have to rethink my alt's services... |

yes using remote assistance causes the killrights to be transferred to that char, I learned that the hard way when I had my jump freighter alt in an onieros during a waffe camp remote repping people for hours, then realised there was 80 people with killrights on that char while autopiloting about in an anshar in empire |

Ouch - thanks, I'm not used to tracking kill rights - I'll have to keep her more passive in a fight I guess....

so sensor boosting a neutral allows transfer of kill rights to that individual, but neutral reppers dont?

It only makes sense though doesn't it. If they are there and helping in some way that effects the fighting then yea, you gotta pay the piper sometime down the road. |

I'm pretty damn flashy thank you very much.
My alt however, likes to fly big fat slow ships in high sec asleep at the wheel.
Having killrights is detrimental to her lifestyle.
Let this be a warning. If you remote assist someone that 'criminally' kills a target that never fights back (against the remote booster) - that target will be allowed to kill your remote booster in high sec one day.
I added the KR to my alt's address book - I'm hoping I can get another webbing alt trained up quickly to move her along in high sec.

You're telling me you're 100% self sufficient in low sec?
My alt makes half my T2 toys and all my T1 toys, and I still have to go to high sec for things the crappy low sec market cannot ever hope to provide.
Every pirate corp has a high sec alt to buy and sell things at hubs.

dunno, never used my alt to rep me. Note that I said "and not logistics" implying that I either use my alt aggressively (giving kill rights, anyways) or completely neutral (well as far as the victim is concerned), with the scan prober. and don't remote rep or sensor boost.

So... if I sensor boost/rep neutrals in highsec that gank a war target... will said war target get killrights on me? Other than the whole 15 min aggro thing.
That might be fun. ------------
