Edited by: Dr Vitoc on 26/01/2009 23:50:38 Ok I have a character with -7 standings with the caldari and -6 with ammar. (Before diplomicy and connection)
I have trained my diplomacy upto 4 and connection also to 4. However i still can not work out how i can get my standing to a minimum of -2 so i can start running low level missions for the caldari and amarr factions.
Is there a way that i can improve my standings?

You can work with an agent, corporation, faction that is friendly with those and you will get derived standings increases.

ok so, if I need to run missions for, firstly a corp that has a link to the caldari corp then mision until my standing is high enough to do missions with the caldari.
What is the rough exchange rate of points from one faction to another

Edited by: Matthew Cooper on 27/01/2009 19:42:55 If you train Diplomacy to V, you should be able to (if you can't already) use some level 1 agents for Ammatar Mandate and eventually work your way up from there. I have been doing this with Khanid Kingdom (your standings are a bit too low for them unfortunately) and I've been getting 0.3%-0.5% increase with Amarr Empire and 0.2%-4.3% increase with Caldari State from each Level 3 storyline I've done for them. It's a very slow process for sure, but if you have Diplomacy V you will be able to use the worst of the worst level 1 agents with Amarr/Caldari once you hit -5.00 again and once you do that, you can start getting storylines for them directly and increase your standing with them much faster. |

Connections will only help your standing with corporations/factions that you are already friendly with.

I'm in the same boat, but with Gallente and Minmatar. Using this Link I found that I could raise my standings by running Sisters of EVE missions.
In your case, it looks like you could run missions for Ammar Mandate, Khanid Kingdom, and/or Mordu's Legion. You won't get 100% credit for Caldari and Ammar, but you should be able to get decent agents with one of these other factions that let you quickly grind up to Lvl 3's and 4's. At that point, the inter-faction storylines will give you rather substantial boosts to the Caldari and Ammar.
I was able to raise my -8 Gallente to -4ish in a few hours (along with Diplomacy 3). Since everything has diminishing returns, I'm not planning to train beyond 3 in either Diplomacy or Connections, unless there's nothing else worth studying.
Once I get to -1, I plan to use the Cosmos sites to raise my Gallente standings. Trying that with a -8 only got me shot at everytime my ship stopped in Gallente space....
