Edited by: Jason Edwards on 27/01/2009 06:20:43 Tempest Fleet Issue High slots: 6x best arties you can fit. Tech 2 probably ideal. Officers being superior obviously. 2x rocket launchers with defenders. Generally speaking the 6 guns and the tank will overload fitting and you cant fit cruise or torp. Your discretion.
Mid slots: 3 hardeners CN invulns or plain specific tech 2. We will go with 3 kin hardeners for the lulz. 3 large t2 shield extenders
Low slots: 3 gyros Ideally faction for dps. Tech 2 are fine. 3 shield power relays
Rigs: 3 t1 shield purgers.
With this setup. You should have about 700 dps passive tank with 30,000 shields of buffer. Also with defenders; they will give you plenty of tank.
While on the otherhand. You have 500-700 dps from your arties + drones. Given good skills/implants and how you fit the ship. If officer fit it could reach nearly 900dps. ------------------------ To make a megathron from scratch, you must first invent the eve universe. ------------------------ Life sucks and then you get podded. |

Technically I need to train minnie cruiser 4 before I'm even able to fly minnie bs. I do plan to do that training so I can move tempest fleet issue to my trophy station. Though I'm training orca atm. Might move the ship with the orca instead.
I really doubt I will ever fit the ship.
However. I found this fit to be very very good. First minnie ship setup that appears to be compatible for missions.
Could you please elaborate as to why we shouldnt? |

Jason i can never tell if your being serious or being trollish.
That setup is a total joke tbvfh.
high slots you have mixed ranges - bad false assumption about fitting cruise and arty defenders - huge fail officer arty - you should run EFT numbers before you fit officer artilery tbh. also consider their current cost.
mids passive fit BS - bad 3x hards - always go type specific and 3x invuls isnt always best also 3x CN invuls will destroy your wallet
lows 3x extenders + passive fit + BS + relays + purgers makes you as big as a station your sig radius is so ****ed its just not funny.
also for the isk you might as well go for a marauder. while i love the fleet tempest its just not worth it for a mission ship.

Quote: you have mixed ranges - bad
No i dont... it's all the same arties. rockets are fitted with defenders. Those arent for shooting rats.
Quote: false assumption about fitting cruise and arty
considering you need awu5 just to fit tech 2 arties. You certainly cant fit cruise or torps.
Quote: defenders - huge fail
How so? also what else are you going to put there?
Quote: officer arty - you should run EFT numbers before you fit officer artilery tbh. also consider their current cost.
I was just saying... you could get lots of dps with officer; as it they could be fit.
Quote: passive fit BS - bad
passive fit bs generally cant generate much of a tank. Tempest fleet is an exception.
Quote: 3x hards - always go type specific and 3x invuls isnt always best also 3x CN invuls will destroy your wallet
was just saying that they work. I wasnt saying t2 invulns are doable.
Quote: lows 3x extenders + passive fit + BS + relays + purgers makes you as big as a station your sig radius is so ****ed its just not funny.
467m actually. Your typical CNR is 460m. So no also not a problem.

1st. Isk doesnt buy skills 2nd. Vargur is garbage as hell for missions.
You are surprising quite wrong in that post.

not really, I activly flew a pest for ages on L4 misisons and consider myself well versed in mission running in Matari ships.
Defenders are awfull and not all missions will spam large ammounts of missiles at you either.
you can fit 1400mm TII and cruise TII and stll have an effective tank.
if your using active hards its always more efficient to use type specific. ive seen people go in to missions like mordu and warp out on fire but a simple swap out for an additional kin hard then the mission is that much easier. its the same with zazz. you can swap out for a therm and the mission gets easier.
1. i know that. but a fleet pest isnt worth the money and if you spent that much you should go for the Vargur. If you want to play with Matari ships in missions then look at the claymore. its fun and has a decent tank.
2. sooo very wrong Mr Edwards. It took me a long time to convert but the vargur is really really nice to fly.
I dont see where i was surprisingly wrong besause all you really disagreed with was the point about defenders and an arty/cruise fit. you even agreed that a passive BS is bad. regardless of being a RF pest its still very bad to do in pve. Although you dont need much of a DPS tank to missions.

Seems to me the best critique would come from buying one, setting it up, and using it. |
