Heres an idea, how about warp to 2 to 5 k of gates only available, and no bookmarks withen 15 k of stargate. How hard would this be to accomplish.
Then after you implemnet this new feature low sec had 1.9 million rats and 0.0 4 million rats. Then nerf lvl 4 missions more. Im being serious

You'd need to ban BMs around 100k radius of a gate or people would just make 30km/50km/100km BMs

How about an automated gate camping reward? Whenever the gate activates you get 500k-5mil ISK and a random killmail is generated for your epeen needs. This would make gate camping more profitable and it'd stay as exciting as it currently is (and ever was). |

Nice, but you have forgotten to add random damage to the gaticamping ships, ammo and cap consumption and some sec status loss.
Gatecampers would lose some of the excitement without that.

The recent rash of complains about "broken PvP" have thrown up some pretty bizarre mechanisms to bring it back to centre stage. The truth of the matter is that you can't force people to do something by changing a game mechanic. What happens is that one bright spark works out how to get round the current restrictions, posts it to the forums and then everyone jumps on the idea. At best you gain yourself a small moment of "play time" before the rest of the Eve playerbase adjusts. This generates a cycle of complaints when the real problem is simple: one play style does not and should not dominate the game.
Positive steps, rather than negative ones, which encourage different play styles are to be applauded, such as CCP's promise of worm holes. Negative steps, such as nerfing NPC corps, high-sec, missions, carebears (we can't have them shooting back can we) are pointless examples of navel gazing at it's finest.

^^ This. Any solution you can think of, short of removing all bookmarking on the same grid as a gate will just spell the return of 0-bookmarks of some form, indirectly or otherwise. |

Can't make the BM within 15km of the gate? So make it as much as 100km behind the gate, in line with where you're warping from, and simply warp at 100km.

I don't think he was trolling tbh. And what he said about no bookmarks within 15km might not be quite right, but if it was no bookmarks within 115km, then it would work brilliantly. |

There's a reason that Eve has more players than ever.
Making people waste more time traveling is a step back that will only chase them away again.

You already land at about 2km from the gate when you do a wtz anyway. It actually seems to vary between like 500m and 2500m, but, regardless, your feature is already in game. Enjoy. ------------- Stop whining.

That hits the nail on the head. If one style of play dominates, the game dies as the other styles feel cheated and depart, then the remaining single style of play dies as it has no counterbalance, and is therefore no more fun.
Pirates have no targets if carebears steer clear of lowsec. Carebears make no profit from selling to those actively involved in PVP if there are no fights.
Now what would the OP prefer? A guaranteed kill but only one target every six hours, or a limited chance of success, but plenty of targets rolling by? Whinge all you like about WTZ, but the only real change is that the database is no longer cluttered with millions of bookmarks.
These games are all about balance. And your needs are not universal. |

So do you want to bring more people into losec and 0.0 or do you want to drive them away? While the first proposal would drive people away the second seems to be intended to attract them.
What about leaving it as it is?

Why suddenly is this an issue? Stop gate camping and go roaming or some ****.....
The reason "pirates" like to camp gates is cause its low risk with a good chance of high profit... cause if the gate flashes a **** load they can just jump through or hug it till they agress.
Its lame!

I wouldn't mind warp to zero if collision was a factor.
Let them be crazy in a pinch and warp to zero. Let them plot throug ha system incorrectly and go through a planet.
If we had collision, it would be a different ball game. It would require skill to navigate.
Some routes would have two warps or more through a system to get to the next gate as freighters have to move through the system to avoid planetary objects.
Concord and other pilots would be smart to stay outside a certain range of gates to avoid collision.
Billboards would have to move on that off chance that you move into at the down slide of 150km per second.
Careful warping to Zero is all I am saying. Vote for Coliision! |
