I am always glad to hear more people are about to roam in Providence. For long have I felt pity for CVA and other prov alliances. To just sit there in one region with basically nothing to do but shoot rats or yield ice is unimaginable. The "People of Eve" thread from a while back gave me hope. Hope CVA and their people would finally get some serious action. Unfortunately the movement came to a halt soon after.
People have often accused CVA of blobbing. But how would they be able to use smaller gangs? After weeks, maybe months from the last contact with a ship of negative standing what can you expect? Tens, maybe hundreds of people wanting to be a part of some real Player versus Player activity is something CVA fleet commanders just can't ignore.
Even the Developers of EVE have tried to address this issue. The last major expansion packs have improved exclusively True Sansha loot. Just to name a few True Sansha Warp Scramblers and Stasis Webifiers are now the best faction modules in-game. These changes have been made in order to make Providence a ôbetterö region, something other alliances would want to conquer and therefore get CVA players in touch with pvp combat. Another mentionable change is recent Amarr boosts in hopes of further improvement in Sansha loot value.
What can you do to help these poor people? The easiest is to form a gang and roam in Providence like The Polaris Syndicate. Blobbage will be a problem but maybe with many simultaneous gangs Providence people would be able to form multiple small gangs instead of just one big one. You can also discuss conquering of Providence with your Alliance leader.

CVA isn't the only alliance in Providence. Some of us get kills, too
And please, bring comedy fits, we have such a large lack of those
As always, I'll be trolling the forums in my own unknown way, with a little bit of humor that only pleases me! Have fun in Providence, I think I will. ______________________________________

Polaris clearly lived in the wrong part of Providence either that or CVA were killing all the reds before they got to them!
Just for reference this is an overview of CVA killboard totals every week for past seven weeks:
610 Ships killed (16.54B ISK)274 Ships lost (9.35B ISK) - Last week 766 Ships killed (31.88B ISK)211 Ships lost (4.24B ISK) - week before 667 Ships killed (18.79B ISK)299 Ships lost (9B ISK) - week before 545 Ships killed (17.07B ISK)293 Ships lost (10.57B ISK) - week before 509 Ships killed (16.67B ISK)220 Ships lost (8.54B ISK) - week before 484 Ships killed (16.68B ISK)152 Ships lost (4.79B ISK) - week before 388 Ships killed (12.99B ISK)134 Ships lost (3.73B ISK) - week before
Bear in mind this is only CVA's killboard - I am sure the other residents of Providence could add many more kills/losses to this. If Polaris really didn't see any action for 'months' then I suggest that they weren't looking hard enough

I'm very happy to hear people are really trying to get you guys something to do.
I had heard stories of only a few legends, Elliot someguy's child, Lacco and of course Scrapheap-challenge but sure am glad to hear they are not the only ones.

Im pretty sure other alliances in the area could add alooottt more losses to that. But yeh CVA get alot of action as the providence lot are known as a group that will usually bring it and give you a fight. |

I don't really understand this thread. Prov is much busier in fact than most other regions. As Hardin and others often point out, they provide a nice playground for roaming gangs and eager defenders / anti-whatevers.
If things are that boring I will try to make more time to terrorize people this week :P |

I'd like to reply to this as i did not get a chance to in COAD (my corp's member count is <9 lol)
Anyways the whole thing is turning into a massive debate around Providence and The Polaris Syndicate seems to be the catalyst, I for one am proud of this since i was the one urging people to go on gank night to have some fun.
At the comments about mis-using our blue status in thecitadel chat. That was me, I did do that and the and result seemed to be one harbinger who jumped into R3.
[ 2009.01.25 00:36:15 ] Equium Duo > lo [ 2009.01.25 00:36:15 ] Verduga GreenEyes > remind me to stab you -_- [ 2009.01.25 00:36:19 ] Equium Duo > why? [ 2009.01.25 00:37:10 ] Verduga GreenEyes > r3 is clear!
Some funny stuff, and tbh whatever you say about Providence, however hard i tried to supply false intel, your members were providing it a lot faster and better than i ever could. At one point we were flying a 40man recon gang :)
Anyways like Hardin sad they had fun, and we deffinately had fun. I like to think my epic killmail invaded providence killboards like a virus, on our killboard it weighed in at 8.9 Billion isk lost.
Although attention must be drawn to the fact that CVA have posted chat logs on that COAD thread of confidential convo's between diplo's. So thats one knock in the golden armour.
Also we donwed iPhar's large dark blood tower. Under my lead we had zero losses and killed a few BS and had a conga line on the dead POS's grave. iphar were not CVA KOS but the whole incident was allowed anyways. Whooray for CVA!
But yeah <3 ya! |
