Edited by: Arthur Frayn on 30/01/2009 10:51:42 Won't it be terribly easy to put a cyno alt in a system of one's choice and bring in a few carriers to set up a pos? |

if you had read the dev replies in the blog thread, you would know that it is not possible to cyno into worm space.
cynoing out though, that hasnt been excluded. |

/failure to read dev blog or 42 page info portal thread ftl. No cyno no jump clones so the only way in is a wormhole and the only way out is a wormhole or if you lose your probe ship eject and selfdestruct your pod. Thats all folks. |

Maybe not, but jumping is based on distance. Exactly how far are these systems from the rest? |

That info has yet to be given, and I am guessing it wont be given. I am betting that is something us devious players are going to have to explore/exploit when it goes live.

[pink] lets begin wormholes have mass they will be randomly timed and random mass some may allow 1 or 2 cap ships through however
these systems are off map they dont hav enames they arent in cyno range. only accessible through wormholes please re read the dev blogs this new feature is designed not to be 0.0 alliacne dominated its aimed more at small groups and its quite possible to get stuck in wspace
the most likley sceniro will be 2 alts one a combat one a prober with the change to probes u could indenfitnely stay in there supplies could be a problem the most likley outcome is a pos as a base of operations and corps will use random links to empire and low sec to quickly resupply restock ( this might be good for struggling low sec markets) with random buyers popping up then vanishing back into wspace.
systems will be unnamed. I expect the 00 allainces might similair to renter corps allow some renters to setup operations for them offer some limited support. The rest will be random carebears, low sec pirates , industrialts and a wide range of free roaming alliances might benefit most.
Say u live in wspace, one day u might have a link to empire quickly get some haulers out leave a few scan toons in there in case u get locked out they can always move to a new k link alter on. resupply get ships back in and quickly vanish before the hole collapses. then do youre thing in wspace.
i can see wspace residents co operating with each other signing blues if they come across each other engaging in wspace commerce out of pos bases linking up and then before the wspace wormhole link collaspes going back to their business

Wormholes are another dimension. How many lightyears is it to another dimension?
Cynoing out would be ******ed.

Originally by: Wrayeth You stated you cannot cyno into wormhole space. Can you cyno out of it?
No.
I assume I know the answer to this, but I want to clarify. We've been talking in and out. But what about one wormhole system to another wormhole system via cyno?
No.

try the eve news interview with ccp basically these wsystems are on server but have no presense on map and as such have an infinite and unknown range to wspace. They exist in a shortcut via dimensional space, some of these wsystems could be close to earth but we wont know that at the moment or they could be a third galaxy that was linked perhaps earth > eve galaxy > wspace systems perhaps the early sleepers found their way there but wormhole links collapsed to eve and they were cutoff except for random wormhole spawns
we know nothing yet of the back story until ccp informs us they could infact be machine AI or evolved seperatley
so basicaly cap ships if the wormhole mass is big enough will allow one way travel but be prepared to get stuck there and have to wait for a big enough hle to move to an unknown location within either wspace or eve ( minus high sec) ccp i think will put restrictions on mass ( easier way to allow a bs fleet of say 10 bs into wspace from empire of a freighter would perhaps instead be prevent something in cap ship jump drives that interferes with wormholes to high sec. Basically some plausible thing that would allow them to move into low sec and 00 links but not high sec. Cyno jammers in emprie could interfere with non faction navy cap ships ( pod pilots)
however the thukker fleet in the last QR minmatar-amarr attack did use wormholes possibly but thats a different matter
I think the amarr hier perhaps escaped and discovered wspace and when the thukkers arrived he made his way back would also explain the calderi invasion of calderi prime. |

i think there was a dev post that confirmed cyno'ing out will not be possible. ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

No cyno in, no cyno out. Capitals in WH space is yet to be seen. Sustainable POS deployments are yet to be seen. |
