Just a question to all you C & P vets that arenĘt blinky red. I say the non blinky because this wonĘt apply to the -10 dudes.
After destroying a ship do you guys normally go after that pod as well? And of course I donĘt mean noob alt pod's. It seems to me that in low sec opposed to 0.0 people tend to get really butt hurt when they get podded.
A few of the times when I actually managed to get the pod tackled and ask for ransom the little noobie says "Please I donĘt have that isk" so I just let it go to avoid the massive sec hit. There were a few occasions I said fuk it and podded them anyway.
So I guess what I am asking is it worth the sec hit to know you really ****ed someone off enough to have them send you hate mails and add you to their address book in a stalkerish manner.
P.S I am an idiot someone tell me how to add my sig.

I always try to pod people if possible, depends which character I am flying as to wether or not the sec hit will hurt, but after living in 0.0 for too long you kind of get used to podding people to get them out of the area asap.
Another reason in low sec I always try to pod people is for the hope that they had nice implants installed, haven't had any hate mail for podding people yet but I would think the better way to get smack is by not podding them thus they are more likely to unleash their hate in local channel. |

Yeah I hear that. One of the more memorable times was when I podded some guy from the FTC alliance in a caldari low sec system and his clone was set to the same system.
I got about an hour of whine out of him about implants and how his "200 man" alliance would be coming after me for vengeance. The funny thing was I killed this dude before but never podded him and also never heard a word from him in local aside from GF before that podding

If i am in a hic i always go for the pods. They make a squishy sound when they pop. And besides, you gota keep the implant market going :)

Well, people who pod consistently are going to be the blinky reds like me. I pod by default. The reason is to boot them out of system immediately to limit their intelligence gathering opportunity. If the opportunity arises, I will attempt to ransom the pod. However, that is only doable in belts or in a mission if local is nice and quiet. At a station or gate they almost always try to run for it even if quadruple webbed. If local is full of neutrals or reds, it is too dangerous to sit there for 3 minutes negotiating a ransom. I do not pod people just to make an ass of myself and I don't appreciate my fan mails. But I do like that squish sound, that's priceless. Well not really, it's worth about 10M isk to me so I won't release any pod for less than that. |

I can look at it from both sides. I have a high sec char's and pvp char's. One is a -10.0, and another is a -4.8 or something.
In most cases we pod people so they aren't in the system. So they can't scream in local and so on.
When dealing with 0.0 alliance's it has a secondary affect that I didn't realise until 2 years ago. When you pod someone in 0.0 they tend to have to go a LONG way to get back into the fight.
This ****es them off. A LOT. And they usually vent this frustration on the enemies TS/Vent server while the rest of the battle is going on.
This helps my side as our opponents are down a player for a while, down a set of eyes, AND we've thrown a monkey wrench into their coms systems possibly that can snarl up their FC's for 30 seconds or so. |

Pretty much this. Podding is best for just getting people out of where you live and sending them back to whence they came. |

We often ransom pods and let them go when they paid.
Well, if they are not paying...

I pod alot... mostly because I love the sound, secondly because people have to go wherever their clone is, which is hopefully a long ways away |

But...isn't that good (on occasion), if they're a far way from home and can't deal with the camps and whatnot? :) --------------------------------------------
Yes, my name is Pompous. Yes, this has been designed for maximum deliberate effect. Well done for pointing that out. Well done you. |

speaking from someone who is usually at war in high sec, yes i pod kill. as often as i feasibly can. if there's another WT in a real ship to kill usually ill leave the pod for the time being as id much rather limit incoming fire. business before pleasure. though if they're just so bad that i know we're fine i will take an extra sec to pop the pod too. ive only heard the sound a small handful of times because my sound is off. its not that pleasing to me, the raging is.

I had a very real chance to pod a guy the other day. Had just blown up his Hulk in low sec, and I think he was scrambling on his main to come to his alts rescue, and the alt didn't warp the pod out. I locked it and my finger twitched on the scram and guns...but I didn't and warped away after looting the wreck.
I'm not quite ready to fully seal my fate by podding someone. I guess my security status will inevitably go below the threshold anyway, but until then...pods will probably be safe from me. |
