Edited by: Lupra Nermona on 01/02/2009 07:38:16 Around 40 day until Expansion - but no detailed design at all? - Will we get a expansion with mostly internal changes like "Quantum Rise"? - Will it be delayed? Is the expansion a fake? Or only a new way to distribute the game ("Atari-Packages")? Maybe CCP has no Dollars to buy the new equipment?! (They have only "Icelandic Kr=na" (all $/Ç of our payments must be exchanged by CCP to ISK!))
Others: Some interesting questions from the player base are in the thread "Dev Blog: Sic Itur Ad Astra - Building a New Bridge to the Stars". But is there a concept visible in the answers of the blogwriters?
Furthermore, we are missing at least 2 announced Devblogs to this topic.
Beta-Test: Most of us know some of the desasters in the past: unplayable for weeks after a expansion. I'm afraid we will have the same problem in march.

If you think any sane business would (even before the crisis) convert dollars/euro to ISK, then you got some serious lack of understanding of how multi-national and import/export corporations handle their finances. And any financial adviser trying to recommend such a conversion would be very close to criminal negligence.
No, they likely have a lot of euro and dollars, and their income is all over the map. |

to be fair they likely still need to convert the paychecks part to ISK, since most countries do not allow payment of employees with foreign currency.

Wormspace needs no patch notes, the less people that know the more you gain.
T3 ships need no patch notes, the less you know the more you train.
WIS needs no patch notes, the longer you play the more you believe.
Honestly though, is station spinning going to be so dramatically different that I will feel the need to exit my ship and my pod to do so? |

Yes, but he's talking about the March 10 patch, so WIS isn't an issue. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

I would expect CCP to get a massive injection of cash which will dwindle as all the people who bought the box edition do the same as 80% of other people who've tried Eve and leaves after 3/4 months.
All players should prepare for the worst: Massive whines, unscheduled downtimes, bugs, patches to fix the previous patch, more lag, exploits, and anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
W-Space sounds like 0.0 /losec so it will probably be 90 % full of people looking for unwary newbies.
T3 will be grossly overpriced and a toy for the rich veterans who have run out of skills to train.
Everything will be poorly documented.

You are forgetting that CCP has a licence to print money though....
Have you ever thought that all that spamming in NPC channels by ISK Farmers may actualy be CCP employees!!!!

that hasn't happened in a year or two, and it only used to happen when CCP were a new company. They're now an international company with offices all over and have learned how to roll out expansions with the minimum of problems. |

Indeed deleting your customers boot.ini in the c:\ is the epitome of rolling out expansions with the minimum of problems.
Yes I am worried things will be heavily axed or rather heavily bugged. If I read that they currently are developing large parts of the expansion still instead being focused on quality assurance (removing bugs) kinda leaves me with a rather bad feeling :>.
But ohwell we will see what happens, either way I tend to expect the worst then I can only be pleasantly surprised ;). |

Deleting the INI can be repaired (or is impossible wuth VISTA ;-))
But debalancing the game? We have already some mistakes: - T2-BPOs - the drone-space (high minerals debalancing) - exploration/"high end encounters" in the area of some big alliances - cosmos distribution

more like 14.
I would really like a dev blog just on what these 11 teams are thank you.
Even if just another tease so we knew what was coming in the expansion.

I believe you are referring to the reflection you probably see on a daily basis (looks eerily familiar to me too ).
As for the original post; they have already said what will be the 'Next Big Thing', namely Wormhole exploration and T3 modular ships. So far they appear to be schedule compared to the Empyrean and Quantum releases, which were also preceded by vague descriptions with a flurry of blogs in the weeks just prior to release.

I sometimes hate to be right.
Hopefully CCP will keep in overdrive to deliver the remaining features in the months to follow (mission arcs, remaining t3 ship parts). --- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs |
