lets say one gets caught by a pirate and he has you webbed and jammed and is trying to get a ransom out of you....
If i self destruct the ship..does it rob him of the kill board and will it destroy all my modules so that he cannot loot them?
I know i will probably get podded after i self destruct, i just wanna know if I can at least cheat him out of getting anything good from my ship.

A self-destruct will destory all modules fitted, all cargo and will deny the pirate the killmail.
It also takes 2 minutes to complete and gives a very visible warning that you're trying to do it.
Most of the time, if you're being ransomed (and the pirate is doing it right), you won't survive 2 minutes. For example, if I'm ransoming someone, they're usually on fire already. If you want to self destruct, you'd need to do it right away and hope your tank lasts for 2 minutes.

They all get destroyed with the ship, not before. The closest thing you can do to self-destructing individual modules is to overheat every rack and break them all. The only thing this will do is force the person who loots them to repair them at a hangar later. |
