Is that what metagaming is? I thought it was out-of-game activities, not in-game spying/thievery. |

To some extent, i guess it's part of the game. But yeah, as for recent matters, i can't call it anything but lame.
There's pretty much no way to prevent it. Unless, ofcourse, you become amazingly paranoid; interviewing every corp member face to face in the not-so-digital world, but that would obviously take the game out of the game. |

I hope former BoB CEO's send final act to discontinue payment on each and every account in the Alliance. Perhaps only for 2 months perhaps for good.
I am for the first time, truly ashamed to call myself a member of the EvE community and I don't belong to BoB or Goonswarm. I just know rot when I see it. We truly are the s****of the MMO community. Maybe that's a badge.. Not to me
By orders from CEO, we can't post with allianced mains or I would. |

Trust me, I know how you feel. A lot of players know how you feel... because BOB did this to them first.
Live by the metagame, die by the metagame.
Frankly I don't think the BOB guys will get the worst of it though, they don't have to deal with GS members sincerely believing that metagame victories makes them better human beings then you. BoB always emanated that vibe very consciously when they would @#$% with people. |

For bleeding hearts that feel sorry for bob I do not know what to say. I have watched metagaming weave itself into the Eve online experiance for the last three years and Bob were at the forefront the whole way.
This is no different then being told to watch who you give access to for your BPOS/Ships/Hangers in general/POSes/Chat channels/ and the newest addition Alliance executor corp. vOv

The only thing bob have going for them is an admission that gs logged in to another members account to verify that it was legit director account

If this is a Meta-gaming exploit, it simply proves that CCP has a flawed game. It's one thing to corp thief, it's another all together to break a lead alliance in game by infiltration. If it's allowed, this game is well on it's way to being over. Seriously, Bob certainly has it's share of haters, but having the Goons in charge is a guarantee of a failed game. And the loss of players that are fed up with this kind of script-kiddie hacker type gaming will be huge. Is CCP ready to include the following warning in their ads? "Warning: No matter how much you enjoy our game, you can have your game experience completely ruined by a metagamer"

I'd be happy just to see a huge increase in resources injected into the game from everywhere. Even open up empire moons to mining. Bring the price of goods universally down. More supply > less demand > cheaper prices > more people taking more risks because everything is cheaper > pvp becomes more abundant and more often, increasing demand > less supply, more demand > economy stabilizes.
And with an overall increase in combat, things will change too quickly for a spy or thief to really be worth a whole lot.

Or have it ruined via suicide gank, contract scams, hanger theft etc... Dont see you crying about all that!
It's just a game and if it can be ruined for you maybe you're taking it to seriously.

Depending on their market plan with the release of the boxed set next month they could possibly turn hardline against such measures.
It would of course cost them some subscriptions so they'd only do it if they saw they would have more than enough to make up for it.
I'm leaning though that they wouldn't do it, it would be far to hard for them and impossible to really enforce. They could of course police their own forums more stringently but outside websites would be very hard for them to control. |

There was no admission to account sharing.
They only accessed BoB's forums. Nothing that BoB can do about that, and CCP shouldn't care in the least.

I guess that if eve takes a hard stand on metagaming, spies, etc etc. then bob is going to have to disband anyways, because thats the only tactic they know.
BOB LOVE SPIES TOO.
BOB LOVES TO EMPLOY SPIES.
A LOT.

i doubt this will ever happen because if it did ccp would have to refund all loses due to metagaming because they would be setting a precedent . for instance the first D2 titan was lost to metagamming , so if this was how ccp views these thing now i would submit a petition On behalf Of Omega Enterprises who built that titan for 76 +/- billion then refund the other contributing corps . |
