I'm fairly new with crappy skills and currently running lvl 1 missions with Rifter, and i was wondering which ship i should be aiming for the time i start to run lvl 2's? Trasher? Stabber?
Ps. search gave me really nothing :-( |

I have never flown minnie ships in lvl 2 missions. That said I would assume that the rupture would do a better job. More slots for weapons, 2 weapon bonuses and a tougher tank at the cost of a bit of speed seems like a good trade to me. |

stabber or rupture will do. cyclone/hurricane are probably an overkill, and some L2 mission areas are not accessible for BCs. |

You CAN run L2's in a Rifter, but I can tell you from experience that it's a white knuckle experience. If you have the right skills, it can be pretty fun. Stay away from the Thrasher unless you against have good defensive skills - they're very weak, even though they have a fair amount of DPS. Many people swear by the Rupture for L2's. The Stabber is useful, but again it's pretty weak so you need to know what you're doing and how to fit it properly. |

I used the rupture when I was doing lvl two missions. Quite a nice cruiser, and compared to the stabber it has better tank, better grid, not to mention 6 times the drone capacity...

Ok, thanks for the answers.
Any suggestions for the fitting on Rupture? Something that doesn't require weeks of training for the fitting skills would be nice :)
How is: [Rupture, Rupture: Cheap lvl2 runner] Medium Armor Repairer I Energized Reactive Membrane I Energized Magnetic Membrane I Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane I 800mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Stasis Webifier I Cap Recharger I Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon I 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon I 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon I 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon I Compact 'Limos' Assault Missile Bay I Compact 'Limos' Assault Missile Bay I
That or with artillery instead? And maybe a little off-forum question, but which ammo is "best" in general to use? As i see it, depleted uranium or proton for artillery and EMP for AC's? |

After taking a minmatar alt up to level 2 missions, I would say artillery on the rupture works better than autocannons. Some npc opponents orbit outside optimal autocannon range; and it is a pain to have to move close to each one in turn. With artillery, hitting npc's at 20-30 km is not the problem. As far as the mid slots, I use 2 cap rechargers and either the afterburner or the web. I believe drones end up killing more stuff in web range than medium guns and the webifier can. Autocannons may work better on the stabber, or at least on the tech 2 version of the stabber (the vagabond), autocannons always figure prominently. But for the rupture, artillery for missions worked much better. |

And remember, *ALWAYS*... No wait...
NEVER fit a plate on a mission boat. It's a bad idea. Fit a gyro instead and you'll be much happier. Your fit should make short work of any L2 except possibly blockade. If your skills leave you enough room swap the assault launchers for heavy assault launchers. |

Interesting, and little funny at the same time. As i'm currently running a Rifter with huge shield buffer (1 small & 1 med SE with 3x PDS). And that didn't even come into my mind :)
So i'm gonna give the following setup a try, and do modifications as needed:
[Rupture] Mark I Generator Refitting: Diagnostic System Mark I Generator Refitting: Diagnostic System Auto-Gain Control Tracking Enhancer I Pneumatic Stabilization Actuator I Pneumatic Stabilization Actuator I
Large Azeotropic Ward Salubrity I Large Azeotropic Ward Salubrity I Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners
650mm Medium Gallium I Cannon, Proton M 650mm Medium Gallium I Cannon, Proton M 650mm Medium Gallium I Cannon, Proton M 650mm Medium Gallium I Cannon, Proton M OE-5200 Rocket Launcher, Foxfire Rocket OE-5200 Rocket Launcher, Foxfire Rocket
Hobgoblin I x1 Hobgoblin I x1 Hobgoblin I x1
This will give me a: 13,5k EHP 26 DPS passive shield tank 60 DPS with 405 Volley (+ drones and rockets, mainly for something that gets too close and i can't hit them) 27+18 range for the artys
Currently my skills "force" me to use 2x PDS for that fitting, when i get level 5 engineer i could drop other of them for another gyro. Or i just could use a RCU, but the +shield and shield recharge sounds like a nice little extra :-/
