I am thinking about getting back into Eve. But I don't want to get bored again. The last idea I had before I took some time off was to transport relatively small quantities of expensive materials to and from deep 0.0 in a small, quick Covert-Ops ship. High risk. High Adrenaline. High reward.
But I don't know if this is really a feasible idea. And it's been so long since I played that I'm kind of lost about how to proceed.
I've already done low-sec trading BTW. What I'm looking for now is a way to trade that involves smaller quantities and allows me to explore the outer edges of New Eden.
I'm not looking for handouts on trade routes. Just some encouragement and some ideas about how to get started on a more exciting, stealthy and ISK packed Eve career.
Evemail me if you like, because I don't have many active contacts in-game anymore and would like to meet new people anyway. And thanks

There are skill books in 0.0 space that people in empire want,
and there are BPO in the ORE stations that people in empire want,
and there are cheap BPC from players selling BPC at pirate faction stations that you can move to empire and resell for more isk.
Good luck and I enjoy it

Get a Blockade Runner of your prefered race, put a Covert Ops Cloak in the high slot, a 10MN MWD II, and nanofibers/overdrives/inertia stabs in low. If you have room for it you can fit a shield booster, it might buy you a few extra seconds if you are running for a gate when under attack.
Go for items like Implants, BPO's/BPC's, skillbooks, everything that's small in volume, but has a good pricetag on it. Especially +3/+4 Implants are in hot demand lately.
Alternatively, you can focus on important modules too, T2 webifiers, T2 warp disruptors/scramblers, T2 MWD's and AB's (all sizes) and Covert Ops cloaks. Once you can use a Jumpfreighter, I would go for Covert Ops ships, Dictors and Heavy Dictors to seed in 0.0 NPC stations together with the most common used modules for those ships. You can easily make hundreds of millions a day if you do a bit of research in the markets you are planning to buy/sell at.

Just buy a Jump Freighter like the rest of us. Then you can move freighter loads of stuff from station to station with complete impunity. As long as you've got docking rights and enough cyno alts you can hop across the galaxy in under an hour.

Always always turn your cloak on.
One time I've gotten too ****y after getting away and decided that cloaking wasn't worth it with the speed of the blockage runner.
That was until, I've met an interceptor...

Arrogance has ruined more people in this game than any scam/theft/war.
My old mercenary(PVP) corp is recruiting again. Would you believe I'm giving them my signature block for free? |

If you are just getting back into it and not sure what items to haul I'd suggest finding/advertising for some courier work. Both into and out of 0.0.
Whenever I've done courier work in the past I always "peek" in the cargo. Call it the cliff notes to trade route research. |

This, this and double this.
Never underestimate the lengths someone will use to pop you to get to your cargo if its valuable enough.
As said elsewhere and everywhere, the undock button is the "I consent to unconditional PvP" |

Edited by: Veras Mendacity on 08/02/2009 01:06:25 Big thanks to everyone that replied. This will definitely get me started.
Edit: Oh yeah, any suggestions on NPC station hubs in 0.0? Great Wildlands maybe? Serpentis station in Fountain?

Keep a close eye on CAOD (yes, I know, CAOD sucks) and the sovereignty map posted there. It will give you a clue as to where there is much fighting going on, and thus where there is going to be a lot of demand for ships, modules, ammunition, implants and the likes. Delve and Curse are among the hotspots at the moment. Pure Blind and Providence (you can dock at CVA Outposts if you are neutral) are traditional decent turnover regions as well. |

For the money, the other site which we'll not mention maintains an alliance thread which contains the same information boiled down to a fine syrup as to not contain much of the CAOD BS.
It's scrapped together from a heap of stuff and might be a challenge to find but its definitely worth it for the info that's on there. |

The last time I checked first-hand, it was not possible to see the goods if the person who set the contract had placed the goods in a cargo container before creating the courier contract, since looking inside the courier package or getting cargo scanned reveals only the cargo container.
Is that still true?
Is that method of 'hiding' the goods defeated through the use of one of the API tools that 'sees into' containers?

Thought about mentioning that site, but decided not to as we do not mention that site. /mindtrick
