Hia there!
I love my Kronos I have about 9m sp in gunnery, and it rocks in lvl4's with Rails.
But.... In AE(or in most angel missions tbh), some bs and cruisers always manage to get to around 5-6k and orbit me. It annoys me because i have to use extra time and ammo to get them down, somethings that annoys me tbh
Sooo...i wanted to test blasters on the Kronos on AE this evening, anyone want to share their experience with this?
Rail Setup:
3x gallente magstabs 1x Amarr navy large rep 3x hardeners
2x trackingcomps rest cap rechargers (cant remember how many)
4x 425's t2 with caldary am
rigs: NanoPump ccc
Reason i use cap rechargers and 1x ccc is that i tend to have a rather unstable connection, and dont want to get blown up on a dc |

Blasters with the web bonus the Kronos gets should make short work of the minnie cruisers. I've never tried a rail Kronos, but I never liked Rail Megathrons and I can't imagine they'd be much different. |

Personally, having had a few corpmates fly them, I'd say that Rails are the way to go.
You can kill the stuff way before it reaches you with those rails and high SP in gunnery.
If you fit an AB on there it MIGHT work, but that means sacrificing other stuff.
I'd say stick with rails tbh. Range is king. ----------------------------------------------

Railboats are great - IF you have an afterburner.
Blasterboat without AB is even more fail, and even with a (good, deadspace) afterburner catching anything which doesn't sashay into blaster range on its own is going to be several different kinds of agonizing and boring pain.
Suggestion: maybe you're doing it wrong? I only fit 1x SS TC on mine and the only thing to ever get under my tracking are those bloody elite angel frigates, and that's what Warrior IIs are for. Try burning away from them - it helps. ... and I really think they should boost T2 plate HP.

With a tracking speed script in your Tracking Computer, you really shouldn't have much of a problem hitting Angels (battleships anyway) with 425s. If you want to keep two, that's fine but fit a web to make use of the bonus and change the Cap Recharger to a Heavy Booster with 800s. You'll kill plenty of them before they're in true orbit anyway. |

Here's a well kept secret: dual 250mm. No, I'm not kidding. Run the numbers then try them out.
4km range with blasters +AM is just pure pain for anything not trying to crawl up your ass. You'll want to kill yourself (in game) by the second room. Fighting in 1.5x falloff will make a Drake seem like a DPS wonder in comparison. Good luck being cap stable permarunning an AB to catch your targets now that webs and web drones do absolutely squat.
The dual 250s are trivial to fit on anything, have acceptable tracking and range and just dish out the pain even though every hit seems wimpy. |

Blasters are only more efficient than Rails on Kronos in l4 missions on Damsel in Distress. 425mm Railguns are more efficient on any other mission.

Don't need it with proper target prioritization. Rats who are the closest (closest time-wise) to entering an orbit which will make them hard to hit are primary. The goal of your target prioritization in a railboat is to minimize angular velocity of everything you shoot at. The only thing you need an afterburner for is the few missions left with long gates, if you fly properly.

So much fail. Hahaha oh wow. Tracking is NOT an issue with 425mm railguns on a Kronos in missions, again, if you fly the ship properly and prioritize targets properly. There is absolutely no reason not to fit 425mm railguns for maximum DPS on a mission Kronos. |

That only happens if you're a numpty and just fly in a straight line all the time.
I always seem to manage ending up quite close to the gate. |

Blasters only truely work for damsel.
1st half of AE is great with blasters but the 2nd half isn't either stick with rails or dock for refit after 1/2 way point.
Ultimatly Rail+Garde can do upto 1055dps wich is enuf dps to keep you content. |

Ok, i tried this yesteray..
When the bs and cruisers got into my 20km killzone they where gone in the matter of seconds
The downside was that i had to wait for them to get into those 20km. Had alot of time to tractor and salvage everything as i waited for them to get close though.... But all things counted, i ended up using more time than i do with rails.
