Guess what. These are stats on Sisi. These stats are very likely to be changed before making it to TQ.

From what i've seen so far on SiSi i say i'll p0wn any of that t3 ships with my drake. My drake's hull cost 5 million to lose after insurance, how much will your t3 ship, which i'm going to p0wn, cost ?

Because T2 BS are a) newer and not as widely adapted & b) pre-nerfed, the increase in quality from t1 to t2 BS in comparison with cruisers is laughable....
T2 ships did replace t1 ships for everyone who can could fly them and can afford it, the same will be true for t3 most likely, though the effect of the sp loss downside will change things slightly I think.
At the same time, I don't think that neccesarrily a bad thing.... --

I would love to be in local when a group of pvpers pawn your fleet of T3 with double the number of T1 frigs and cruisers with a few BC.
It will be priceless to have that chat log and TS/vent recording.

For everything but battleships, yes. But from what I've seen of t3 stats they wont be any more uber statwise than HACs, just customizable, so I think we're in the clear. _________________ [IMAGE REMOVED] -- aka Cpt Bogus -- Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?

Originally by: Jas Dor Point blank. Within about two months of release you will be forced to fly a T3 ship if you wish to remain relevant in PvP. T3 ships will have the speed advantage of the prenerf nano cruisers combined with more firepower. Anyone not in T3 will simply be PWNed. The skill loss on death will likely mean that non top tier expert PVPers will stop PvPing. Against T3 everything else will die. In a fight between T3 ships you better be damn good or you're going to loose a ton of SPs over time.
Part of the problem here is that if T3 ships are nearly invulnerable every blob in the game is going to call them primary in preference to just about everything else, for the added benefit of griefing the T3 pilot (same reason you don't bring a faction BS to a fleet fight really).
OP...what the hell are you talking about ???

1. Not final. 2. If true, they will be nerfed in short order.

i see your logic, you must be using what happened with t2 when it was release to back up your claim. i mean we're now years down the road and i havn't seen a t1 ship in meaningful pvp in forever

EVEn tho my expectations of EVE game design team are very low, I still have no good reason to complain about t3.
The first flaw in OPs argument has to do with the fact that supply of t3 ships will be very low compared to demand of PvP ships in general. Then there'll be the 500-2000 mil price range issue. Sure, maybe 5% of top PvPers will fly pimped out t3 ships, but it's hardly enough to make them standard issue for PvP. A group of skilled players will be able to catch and kill one even with t1 ships and mods. And just because it will be harder to kill one of those, the final success would be that much more satisfying.

isn't this where we're supposed to say:
AHH PANIC!! SPECULATION BASED ON SEVERELY UNDER DEVELOPED STATS FROM TEST (test... TEST... you know like it's not done and has a lot of bugs to be worked out still) OBVIOUSLY MEANS THAT EVE IS GOING TO BE BROKEN!!!
T3 ON TEST SERVER GO 14km/s!!! ITS REAL AND GOING TO HAPPEN AAAHHHH!
and then I'm supposed to say something like: Oh wait, test server? hmm maybe they were teasing us but all the while just showing us that they are infact working on it.
I've also probably just been trolled. A fate I suffer for the opportunity to counter troll WHILE enlighten. Woopee =)

are you kidding? people still fly tech 1 frigates, cruisers, and battlecruisers in fleets. In fact tech 2 is rare. you don't see everyone and his mom flying HACs.

I'd say 1 billion has similar or less 'effort value' as 300mil did when HACs were introduced, but it didnt stop them from becoming ubiquitous after 8 months or so. Nor has the 50bil pricetag stopped alliances from cooking up vast quantities of titans.
Price has never and will never serve as a balancing factor, the issue is whether the stats will be more uber than T2. There's an important distinction between uber and specialized...a HAC can do anything better than a t1 cruiser but a lot of recons would lose a straight fight if they dont leverage their EW potential. _________________ [IMAGE REMOVED] -- aka Cpt Bogus -- Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?

Edited by: Cromzor on 11/02/2009 21:35:36 I think it's awesome if so. The SP disparity between the long term players with those who are relatively new is becomming insurmountable. The long time players who have isk to burn and ego's of doom will fly these pwnboats and lose SP, cause they'll die eventually. This will give newer players the ability to catch up while allowing older players to own face. Win - Win if you ask me.

Funny you should mention that, cause last time I was in pureblind (not that long ago) I saw a grand total of one sub-BS t1 ship out of a hundred or so ships. About half of them were HAC gangs, if you were interested.
And a quick trip to Bob's killboard tells me that, excepting GoonSwarm's famous zergrush strategy--which only proves that SA.com offers lots of cannon fodder--upwards of 95% of both their kills and losses are BS or T2, with most of the BS being in large fleet encounters. But maybe Bob is special being rich and all, so I checked the weekly stats for the self-described small-gang pewpew experts over at Agony. Plenty of T1 kills, but oddly enough almost all of the killmails are predominately (>50%) BS or T2 doing the killing.
So maybe they aren't so rare after all. _________________ [IMAGE REMOVED] -- aka Cpt Bogus -- Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?
