You heard it here first! There is an auto fitting function to the fitting window now. Save your ships current setup and next time you have a fresh ship to fit just select the saved profile and it will take them mods and all charges and fit them in about 2 seconds! Total win feature tbh.
Oh man about time. Thank our lords and creators at CCP.
OP if your going to post on a english forum about something being stupid, run your post thru a grammer/spell checker first.
Auto fitting?!? Heeeeeeeeeell yeah. Now I can save setups and not have to ask myself: "Now what is that blood raiders tank again...?" ----------------------------------------------- shin ku myo u

Incorrect. CCP doesn't want "as many people" to play it as possible, because that would break their servers, causing everyone to quit, and then they would lose all of their income. They know this. Thus they want people to join at a steady rate that they can keep up with. If they suddenly found themselves with 12 million subscribers, they would collapse like a black hole.
Don't lie to yourself, thinking that CCP is trying to become the next WoW. If they were trying to become the next WoW, then we'd have battlegrounds, arenas, module insurance, no SP loss possible upon death and pointless holidays sprinkled throughout the year. And yet, CCP is going to be making SP loss MORE LIKELY with the introduction of T3.

In case you havent noticed -- CCP is a company trying to make monies -- not a 'make a video game for the elite mmo player company.'
Start a petition to stop the dumbing down of eve in exchange for doubling the monthly fee for players. See how many signatures you get.

The complexity and depth of a game does not have to come from, and should not come from, its ease of use and playability. Improvements to the interface and tutorial to make the new player experience as effortless as possible is a Good Thing. Most of the depth should come from the tactics, strategy, and player interaction, which is surely what a sandbox is all about.

Guess what, EVE is like every other mmo out there but with a different look and a crappy gameplay.
EVE is not more complex than other mmo's and doesn't keeps the less intelligent people away.
It keeps people away that can't be bothered to spend 80% of their free time warping, docking, undocking, sitting in stations while reading the forums or playing pacman or spend an hour point click warping between planets dropping probes clicking scan... scan... scan... while looking at the same black space, the same planets, the same people doing the same stuff over and over and over.
EVE is not for the intelligent, EVE is for people dedicated enough to waste tons of time to be able to get perhaps a glimpse of fun gameplay. -------------- I R Not Completely Amazing, But I R Mostly Amazing |

Guns with no tracking? "ShootDistance" in weapon showinfo because peoples cant do math(Optimal+Falloff)?
Is Eve trying to be like WoW? I like Eve because of its community, and it having a harder gameplay filter reta**** kids away, so they go play something else with elfs and gnomes...
Also, I tried lots of MMORPGs out there, and only Eve was a challenge to learn how to play, and theres always stuffs to learn, thats why I still playing it now..
Eve needs more stuffs for advanced players, probing was, (I think), not everyone knew how to warp around creating SS right in the edge of the 4au of the others probes, or how to use the different(ALOT) kinda of probes... Now a 1day player can learn how to scan stuffs with this new probing system... whys that???
Soo, please CCP, dont make Eve a stupid game where even my cat can play it.... Just my opinion...
You are confusing easy with user friendly.
Because something is less tedious that does not mean it is easier. There was no skill in probing beyond the patience to train all the traits to 5 and spend 3 hours warping around a system.

the elitism in the OP is stifling... not to mention ironic.
EVE players seem to suffer from this more than most. I don't know why, but there seems to be this pervading snobbery among the EVE Online fanbase that says "our game is better than WoW, WoW is mass-market trash, any change that makes our game more intuitive to play devalues EVE".
If I were on a forum with a less strict language filter, the expletives would fly thick and fast at that attitude. Instead I'm forced to stick with:
GROW UP.
Whining about EVE becoming more accessible is unbearably immature.
Personally, any change that brings more players to be EVE is welcomed, as far as I'm concerned. It means more customers, more rivals, more prey, more allies and more foils. It makes for a richer and more interesting game environment.
EVE will never be a game for the mass-market lowest common denominator because our player-player interaction framework is so... ruthless, cold-hearted and machiavellian. Changing the way probing works, or adding an "align to" button makes no difference whatsoever to those facts. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |
