Kelduum Revaan wrote:Post reserved for future lulz when I get home. Short summary: "I contributed this freely to an open community, and now I want my name on it. I demanded that, and hassled everyone up the chain until I got to the CEO despite being told to wait, and got kicked and everything I had done removed." Or, in very short: "I acted like a **** and generated 6 pages of forum posts about my conduct, so I got kicked out." Edit: Actually, I may just open his specific record to the public... that would make some good reading I suppose. Edit 2 at 17:59 - I thought I may as well open his record for the sake of transparency (link to the Uni forums with the full record of what we had posted in his thread), however as many of you will be able to see, he really doesn't leave things alone. Impatient would be one way of putting it.
If someone was taking credit for his work I can see why he was annoyed, regardless if it's given freely. It's not so much about himself getting the credit it's about someone else taking the credit.
Opening his specific record to the public? Why? That also sounds unprofessional. I would have expected more from the E-UNI but of course this is a game so maybe I expect too much. |

As someone else suggested if it was the Goons nobody would bat an eyelid.
You're not infiltrating the E-UNI now are you? They have links with TEST and so do you. |

Impatient would be one way of putting it. Here's what you should have said: "E-UNI released [Name] from service on [date]. He was released because of internal disagreements over authorial attributions. E-UNI is dedicated to training and educating new capsuleers. The materials collected on our wiki and forum represent the work of hundreds of individuals over many years. While attribution is important, disputes about it do not justify disruptive actions and discord. It is unfortunate that we had to resolve the situation in this manner, and we are sad to lose [Name]'s expertise in his field. We wish him well in his next endeavor and look forward to many more years of helping pilots have fun in EVE." ^That. There was an opportunity to end this by probably page ~4 by taking a page from what real employers do (see above). "Opening up his file" is just crap. What happens the next time someone posts something you guys disagree with on the forum? You will have to "open it on up" just to make sure the masses know you're "right" again, which now means that nothing on that forum is actually private. Same for eve mails. If I was an E-UNI student, I would be quite worried about the discretion of any concerns I had communicated to management at this point because you have revealed just how quickly you will pull this trigger and for just how trivial of a matter. You may think revealing it all proved your side but it did nothing of the sort. All you did was sink into the mud with him right in front of the very people you hoped to convince. Not that the OP should have posted this in the first place. If nothing else, he should have known this wouldn't get him what he wanted (after failing in private), but out of the 2 parties here, E-UNI is the one people would look to for professionalism or classy handling of a difficult situation, not a disgruntled ex-member. BAD! *smacks everyone on the knuckles and runs*
I agree with this except for 'Not that the OP should have posted this in the first place.' because angry people don't always use their best judgment especially when they feel they're not being treated fairly. |

But by definition, an angry person is weak, and weak people deserve what happens to them, so therefore the OP deserves what he got. Just interpreting things for the humans in the thread.
I guess you might see it that way if you're a complete moron with a total lack of understanding about people. |

Sure, I see they give the OP half a chance without really bothering to speak with him or settle his mind on the matter. Kind of like Roman Senators of old talking about the livestock, (slaves), and discussing what to do about the ones that are disrupting their daily affairs with complaints and pointless intrusions.
You don't really know how you look do you?
I think they look all right, to be honest. I'm a moderator on a large message board and I tend to be much more abrasive when I'm discussing my underlings' asshattery with my fellow moderators. Also, the notion of having an 8-page discussion about any single member appears ludicrous to me. This dude would have been banned about halfway the second page on our board. That thread on the E-UNI-forum is a testament to the incredible amount of patience and willingness to resolve **** quietly some of those guys have. Either that or they're just too lazy to rule with an iron fist.
Because you're a moderator we should take more notice of you?
There are good and bad moderators just as there are good and bad managers. |

That's the main part of all this.
As for the other allegations about the op they should not even come into this argument as they should have been dealt with at the time of the incidents.
E-UNI are simply misusing their resources (info) to try an discredit/character assassinate the guy. But for a lot of people it's backfired on the E-UNI. |

Did I miss any jobs Gideon has had? I don't think I did.....Eagerly reading the rest of the tears--er, threadnaught.
Isn't there a rule about publishing people's real life details on the forums without their permission?
If signing up to E-UNI means they can use your details at their discretion then more fool the people that join them. |

L2read, nobody acquired or published his RL info, only the rubbish that came out of his mouth about how he's had all of those jobs to make himself seem authoritative.
I was sort of fishing at that point as I'd not actually read the E-UNI thread. Although of course that does not alter my previous posts on this subject.
But after your post I decided I'd have to look. I read through a lot of the stuff, it just makes the E-UNI management look like a joke. There were managers completely against him back in January. Only saw references to the jobs from the managers (one side of the story) did not see an age reference, although I did start to go back through the thread to see if I could find that reference but did not see it as access to the thread became restricted.
So it looks like it's no longer accessible to the general public, about time too.
From reading their thread, I'm really glad that I never even tried to join the E-UNI although the thought had crossed my mind in the past. |

No need to post any of that. You should not let it get to you so much.
As for speculation, you should not care about it, happens all the time on forums.
People can speculate I'm a red dragon with gold balls for all I care. It's just speculation.
Your best bet is just to ignore this thread now. Otherwise you'll only get yourself trolled. |
