yeah, you definitely forgot THAT point.
Seriously, crying on the forums about "cheating" is as bad as smakcing in local about "unbalanced" fights.
... So you believe cheating is on an equal level with unbalancing a fleet fight? What does that say about you? I'm a **** and I don't even believe that.
Was there cheating? Proofs? Cats-On-A-Bob?

Watch Uni Personnel create 10 alt corps and then dec themselves with all of them to make your re-dec fee 1 billion ISK. 6. Watch Uni FC's smack some more about how uber they are for finding an exploit, and teaching the new people to the game how to cheat rather than fight. 7. Watch what's left of the Uni Students stay docked for the next 4 days, while the war runs out. 8. Claim victory because you thoroughly took the hearts of your enemy, like a war was meant to be.
This is the only war that I have ever placed as the leader of The Privateers that has ever worked like a war should. I took their hearts and forced them to do the unthinkable. Cheat at an internet starship game in order to save their pixels. That made it worth every minute to me.

Truly this is an amusing thread. All in all i would like to thank Elite Contract for starting a thread that seems to have the ultimate result of encouraging newer players to join the university. I believe i shall be a "doberman puppy" for the next few weeks to see if i can learn anything.

Here is the thing most people forget about EUNI:
Often, they WANT people to war dec them. It is a great learning experience, and often posts like this swell their recruitment. Oh - and the "lockdown" statement is a bit exaggerated.
Do some people "win" against EUNI? Yes. There are certain ways that they can get worn thin and the student's zeal can wear off. An intelligent opponnent is one of the ways. But that is the exception rather than the rule. Anyway - most people who dec the UNI think they are going to get some easy ganks and kills off of some fat haulers. Then they silently undec and never say a word about their "war" when they see the harsh reality.
Back when I was in the UNI, we got decced by some top-flight merc corps, and the UNI gave them hell. Most left with horrid stats and a new respect for the UNI. Others left with good stats and a new respect for the UNI.
Whatever you do, make sure you take your expensive T2 ships and a hefty dose of arrogance with you on your EUNI war. You wont regret it!

Quote: They can claim no victory, moral or otherwise. Like I said before. The only war that I've ever been involved in, in all my years in EVE, that ran it's course like a true war would. Cept in the real world I would have run them in the ground.

Two campaigns. They're both in the positive on the Uni side. You really ran them down, didn't ya?

alt e-peen stroking
From the looks of it many of the low performance wars were either real short, or bugged by idiots flying ships during war time that they shouldn't have (a CNR with faction fit... exhumers, mining barges, etc.)
Seems some of them were also terminated by looking at the kill dates... when the uni started to pull ahead on efficiency
Many would consider not saying anything unless they had a perfect kill ratio against them...
And looking at the kills vs losses... it takes a lot of eve uni losses to equal one kill value. Considering they tend to lean towards pure T1 fits... insurance means they really lose maybe a few iskies per ship lost compared to the T2 and named fitted kills.

Fighting the Uni is like kicking a bees nest. It might be fun for a while, but you're going to get stung by 1000 little bugs eventually.
I have personally flown in a E-Uni fleet of 128 pilots. If you think your corp can survive that, all the power to you. As mentioned, fleet discipline is strict, and highly enforced. You won't catch many stray pilots, as the directors probably have already popped them, denying you your kill.
The only strategy I've seen work successfully against the Uni was . . . .

ooo.. I'll finish that one...
Blob them back.. But that's boring and really does require 100+ pilots.. And Eve-U will just dock up and hide to deprive you of the kills..
So I think what we have decided through this thread is that decing eve-u is a boring waste of time that will result in some killboard padding but not a lot more.. NOT a kublai alt. Honest! |

BUMP!!
Thank you 'Exotic Dancers Club' for stepping up to the plate and wardeccing Eve University. You took action while other corporations were looking for excuses not to fight.
War will start 10:07 eve time tomorrow. E-UNI currently has 1170 members.
Wishing all involved good luck.

I would like to thank Elite Contracts for the chance to teach the new members we have recently taken on the relevant PvP skills in a live fire situation.
There were plans already in the pipeline to select a willing target for an organised war, however this way saves us a bit of work choosing a target, and means that we didn't need to pay for it.
Elite, as you may have seen from your 'agent', the membership is somewhat eager to fight to say the least, rather than upset as you seemed to suspect.
I hope you are getting your moneys worth, but feel free to drop me an evemail if you want to discuss this or other matters. _____

This I am glad to hear. Though the motivation behind wardec'ing EvE University is beyond my understanding, I'm glad to see you guys pushing back.
I look forward to seeing the kill mails. ______________ Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn. |

Attacking a bunch of newbies is kind of pointless anyways. Essentially these people have nothing to lose, but everything to gain, while the wardeccers have the opposite, having a lot to lose and nothing to gain.
Unless of course the war dec is meant to be beneficial, in order to give them a taste of PVP. My old corp did that to one newbie corp and they ended up loving the battle, added excitement to their experience. Was funny too cause I just recently looked up and old post about it and there was a month old F'nog there stating how much fun it was, even though they did lose. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |
