I hope you ment Large Shield Extenders. Not sure if that will fit with the Neutrons, but it should fit with at least ions (small damage loss, great hp buffer increase).

Whats the point to use blaster on a ship which job is point /damp targets outside of blaster range? :O Is this want to be a thorax with covops cloak? I cant see other reason to use this fit.

404 DPS, 21.5k EHP. I've always been an armour tanked ship pilot so not too sure on shield buffer fits. Thanks for the advice. The damage rig was adding so little DPS it doesn't really matter to drop it for more EHP.
And to the other poster, yes, as is the Pulse Pilgrim this is the non-conventional way to fit a damp boat. And considering that most people, including myself consider damps pretty poor, but have the recon skills, this is what I intend on flying about :) ---

Why the dread guristas scrambler? you wont uncloak untill you are in omgwtfpwn range anyways? And if youre planning on scrambling and webbing your target why the need for MWD, AB should suffice to keeping an orbit and lolling.

Dread Scram because it's pretty cheap, the fitting requirements are low (same as Domi scram) and catching someone and shutting down their MWD is crucial at times. MWD is for pulse cloaking through bubbles or gatecamps. ---

If you take the drones and swap them with 5x Warrior II's and the rest as backup Warrior II's then you will have a great fit. What you gain by being able to chase off interceptors more than makes up for the DPS you lose.

Because in real Eve PVP, things happen like enemies warping in to help. And its moments like that when you need to GTFO. So you scram your enemy so their MWD shuts down and you overload yours and you get the hell out of range and warp off. If someone is chasing you, you can jump through a gate and reapproach it to 0 (you'll want a MWD for this obviously), overload the scram and catch anything jumping in. Pop them quickly and GTFO before their friends arrive.
Etc. Trust me, MWD, faction Scram - these are things you *WILL* need on the ship if you're flying it the way its meant to be flown.

This works even easier with Damps tbh, damp them and just warp off.

Yeah but what's sexy about this setup is it has the tank and gank to kill other recons and some HAC's and it has the mobility to get away and it has the cloak to survive any manner of crazy gate camp you might run into. If you put on RSD's, you're delegating yourself to a rails fit and giving up mids. Now your DPS gets cut in half and your tank gets cut in half and all the sexiness of this fit goes away.

switch one of the shield extenders for a damp with scan res script
and the drone load out for 4small ecm and 4 warriors II?
drop the ecm drones on larger then cruisers, or t2, targets, plus the damp.
Wouldn't it work a bit better?
less chance of being neuted to?

No, that wouldn't work better. Pro tip : Don't fight a curse, Dominix or pilgrim in a solo blaster Arazu.

But can you tell me why wouldnt it work better then the other setup?

The point of a ship is dependant on how you use it. The blarazu is a covert ops cloaker with quite a handy amount of DPS and tank, and a long range scrambler. Ignore the RSD bonus, and you _still_ have a rather handy ship. A bit like the Rapier really.

24km scrams are really very good indeed for chasing off inties. I'd debate whether it's worth running 5x warriors, in favour of the better DPS.
I'd also tend to go with core defense field extenders instead of EM screens.

The Dread Dis overheated with Recon 5 is 24kms and also shuts down MWD so it's kinda of a moot point. Warriors over Hob/HH's is personal choice. Possibly could change 1 EM rig for a Field Extender, but dropping both would mean suicide enganging anything Ammarian at all.
All in all im pretty happy with the setup, just gotta get a few in stock and start roaming. Which I might do after camping PR- --- * your signature image is broken. Please use one that works - Fallout Who is dis moses meehee they talking about ? |

Depends on whether or not you run into ships like Ares/etc, that can point outside of 24km. If you use medium drones an Ares can hold you indefinately if you aren't on a gate or station. I've found the DPS difference isn't worth it tbh.

A battleship is not the target of the blarazu. It doesn't have the DPS to break a local tank. It doesn't have the tank to withstand Berserker II's. It doesn't have the cap to withstand being neuted and it cannot neut the enemy. If you want a recon that can solo battleships you should look at the curse. The blazaru is for attacking Battlecruiser and smaller targets. You will be dead before light ECM's can hit a jam cycle against a battleship.

I'm struggling to figure out why you would use an arazu, of all things, for a short-range cloaky ship when a pilgrim or something could accomplish exactly what you're trying to accomplish only better (and no, not that silly laser pilgrim). You're squandering half of the arazu's bonuses by not fitting any damps.
What's wrong with using the arazu for long range damping with rails? I mean, I've heard of thinking outside the box, but c'mon...

A pilgrim cannot do what the arazu can do just as an arazu cannot do what the pilgrim can do. What's the difference between this and a rails setup arazu? Well, for one, about 20k EHP. For two, about 200 DPS. This setup is like a HAC that can warp cloaked and gets a scram bonus. If you don't see the value of that then I don't know what to tell you.

20k EHP isn't really HAC-like.
And if this thing is for catching belt ratters unawares, then I'll say it again: use a pilgrim. A pilgrim can't get 400 dps like this arazu fit, but what it can do is neut things to hell which indirectly translates to more dps and tracking disrupt turret boats to hell which similarly translates to more EHP. A belt-ratting BS will tear this arazu apart pretty hastily. I still don't see why anyone would use it over a pilgrim.

Difference between long range, rails, damp Arazu and Blarazu is about 20k EHP (going by my fits). A pilgrim CAN get 400 DPS and more.

20k EHP is the *difference*. IE, take the rails arazu, double its EHP and you have this arazu. It isn't meant for taking on battleships. The pilgrim is. Same vein a pilgrim can't do anything to fast moving ships. This can. They're two different ships altogether and they serve different purposes and they're meant to attack different targets.
