Although I do appreciate Dark Rising's efforts to clean up Amamake, I don't like their 'chest beating' attitude and the way they seem to take over the militia comms channel at times.
Luckily we can choose to not join their fleets and form our own.

Completely fair and honest. Plus having two fronts can yield to some nice results.

Dark Seem to come off as arrogent at times and I'm sure as hell know that others think the same of me
This is not proper arrogancy. Basically, it's a feeling you get when you find out we got a > 100 people fleet of people who believe in you. The very sight of that fleet... the coordinated potential... it's an hard to describe feeling of having achieved something good and this easily outputs in a quite visible way.

Heretics, you have been warned by Smog and others, and as I have said before, history itself has warned you... The force of history is bearing down on you now.
It's all just a little bit of history repeating.

Well, history's funny like that. When things happen like you want, you can stop the clock, point to it, and call it history. If things you don't like are happening, history's clock mysteriously keeps running...

No Harlequin, thats spin, not history. History is inexorable. It is the difference between 'Truth' and perceived truth, though I admit, that difference is academic. 'Real' truth, like 'real' history, you can avoid for awhile, but it will come back to bite you on the ass again and again. Heretics may be in the position to finally learn that lesson. It remains to be seen wether they will or not.

Since those are all major operations impossible to do in few (else how do you kill multiple POSes and with tight deadline?), the ability to summon the bigger blob and coordinate it to effect is what makes one lose and one win.
Second, it's always the same excuses:
If you get the smaller blob you are uncoordinated and incapable. If you get the bigger blob it's because you can't PvP without a blob yadda yadda.
For one battle where a minority wins despite numerical disadvantage there are 1000 where those with the bigger numbers win hard. It's really the reason why alliances and international pacts exist: to leverage a side with a bigger army.

There's no Truth, not here, it's all and only perceived truth, to different degrees. In fact Truth is often associated with God, and such entity is often considered trascending (ie also outside) of this "world".
In any case we can't experience it.

You can experience it, and you do, all the time, it's just that our brains usually don't recognize it unless we give it another name, like God. Once we name something, we libel it, we diminish it and confuse it. It is not that we can't experience it, it's that we don't see it for what it is until too late usually. This is why you can have your truth, and I can have my truth, and neither is really Truth.
Like I said, the difference is academic for the exact reason Pilot Vahrokha stated : "it's all and only perceived truth, to different degrees." We do experience it, constantly, all the time. We hardly ever perceive it.

Don't mind him, just look at the date of his post and that of the last post before it. Two weeks (to the hour!) of having no attention paid to them at all (aside from repeated molestation in a certain asteroid belt) and he's trying to drum up some controversy.

I've read this entire thread... and here's what I find terribly interesting. Mitch Taylor is essentially calling for known pirates to cease being pirates. A very hard thing to do. And, quite frankly, something that will not happen.
He might be able to push and shove them around and blow up their assets, but as long as they choose to fly ships in Amamake they will continue to do so. He might even succeed in getting them to leave for a while, but I will place money on them coming back... with a vengeance.
While it's no secret that I have flown alongside Heretics I am now a Free Captain with Star Fraction. I gladly fly my ships in support of their (Star Fraction's) causes, including supporting the Minmatar Faction Warfare as directed by Jade Constantine.
However, I would like to make this point about Mr. Taylor and Dark Rising cleaning up Amamake and Bosbogger... and these are my personal observations and not intended to be disrespectful of anyone, least of all Mr. Taylor and Dark Rising.
I cannot count the number of times that I have seen Faction War pilots from Minmatar, Amarr, and Caldari resorting to open piracy on neutrals in Amamake and Bosbogger. Now, before you protest, I realize it's not all of them. Yes, it is a fair minority. Nonetheless it's happening every single day.
How can you look at a pilot's security status and killboard and not see what's going on? They are willingly and even gladly attacking anyone and everything... opposing FW, Pirates, and Neutrals. Those pilots didn't accidentally get those negative security ratings attacking and killing pirates. Anyone under -5.0 is free game, without a security status hit... and 99% of Heretics and their running mates are -10. Indeed, those pilots pushed the button on neutrals, knowing full well that they themselves were committing piracy.
My suggestion to Mr. Taylor and his group is to clean up the FW pilots first, then worry about the pirates.

Personally I don't think it was so much a issue about Piracy. Hell I like pirates. I need my sec status for other stuff I do, so the red flashys give me free stuff to shoot at otherwise I'd probably be a pirate too.
I think the problem with heretics was the fact they tried to intermingle and divide the Minmatar militia and had non stop gate camps on our high sec trade route. This caused problems within our Militia so we had to start dealing with it.
If you notice, you don't see topics about other pirate corps that operate in the same area. We fight them they fight us and it's all fun and games.
Which is all it is with Heretics these days as they no longer have the means to split and divide the militia, so they are just like any other pirate corp now.

Mutnin and Mitch are entirely correct. This issue was never about pirates, nor was it really about Heretics. Any entity that attempts to ally with half of the militia while attacking the other half will be dealt with at some point. That's just common sense. Besides, the Minmatar militia does a great job of dividing itself on it's own thank you very much.

Not long after I first climbed into an egg, I lost my first ship and clone to a Heretic Nation gatecamp from Osoggur to Amamake. Since then I've lost several other ships, but that loss will always stay with me. CONCORD's failure to keep the major spacelanes clear has cost me a considerable amount of time and ISK, and I applaud Dark-Rising's attempts to keep that particular chokepoint clear.
The Minmatar militia has my sympathies. Amarr ships may be the most beautiful and well-crafted of all ships, but my homeland's incursions and slave raids into Minmatar space befoul the entire Empire. No need to have pesky gnats dividing the Minmatar militia when there is a greater foe to repel.
Live gloriously. Blow up some pirates.

Edited by: Arkady Sadik on 01/07/2009 22:56:28 Heretic Nation has pulled down all starbases in the Amamake/Bosboger area. Their oldest corporations - Heretic Army and Gemini Technologies - have joined Sc0rched Earth and are now actively hunting in the south-east, primarily in the Providence region.
Everyone should be happy now: The militia has their peace in Amamake and Heretics finally have a true challenge in 0.0.
